Over the weekend, FSgt JC Hough, LCpl Charlie Poeta and PFC Chris Anderson participated in the Wateree Trash festival in Camden, SC.

Volunteers spent Saturday morning cleaning the banks of the Wateree River. This annual event brings the community together as volunteers remove trash, both on land and from the water. Once again this year, the dumpster provided by Kershaw County Public Works was filled to the top with removed debris!

Thank you to these dedicated officers and all of the volunteers for their hard work!

Please join us in congratulating First Sergeant Reese "Player" Aston on his well-earned promotion to First Sergeant!

Player's dedication, professionalism, and commitment to serving the people of South Carolina have made a lasting impact throughout his career. We are confident he will continue to lead with integrity and excellence as he takes on this new leadership role in Horry County.

While on patrol in the North Inlet area of Georgetown County over the weekend, officers PFC Wallace, PFC Ford and PFC Ledford contacted a vessel with four fishermen onboard gigging flounder. Once the fish were checked and measured it was determined they had 15 over the limit of flounder, six under size flounder, one under size sheepshead and an expired vessel registration.

All four subjects were arrested and transported to Georgetown County Detention Center. The illegal fish were seized and donated to the Georgetown City Fire Department.

We are thankful for our officers who work to protect our natural resources and remind citizens that natural resource violations can be reported anonymously by calling the Operation Game Thief Hotline at 1-800-922-5431 or submitting your tip in the Hunt Regs app (bit.ly/40KMK7F).
