Tomorrow is Election Day! Polls will be open at your precinct from 6AM–6PM.

Over the last several months, I have worked hard to meet and speak with as many people as possible across Adair County. If I haven’t had the chance to personally speak with you, I humbly ask for your support tomorrow.

When the results are announced tomorrow night, this race will never have only been about winning to me. If I am elected Sheriff, the votes for my opponents will remind me every day that I must work hard to earn the trust of those who did not choose me, while also proving to those who did support me that they made the right choice. I will work for every person in Adair County fairly, honestly, and with respect.

If elected, I will be honored and excited to stand beside the deputies and office staff who work hard every single day serving this county and its people. I know the sacrifices they make, and I look forward to working together as one team for Adair County.

No matter the outcome, I want to sincerely thank everyone for the kindness, conversations, prayers, encouragement, and support shown to me and my family throughout this campaign.

Tomorrow, I would be honored to have your vote for Joey Keith for Adair County Sheriff.

I have worked hard to get out across the county and speak with as many people as possible, I know there are still some doors I may not have made it to. If I haven’t had the chance to meet you yet, I truly apologize and hope you’ll still consider supporting me for Adair County Sheriff. Every conversation, prayer, share, sign, and vote means more to me and my family than I can put into words.

Thank you all for the kindness and support throughout this campaign!

Unfortunately, there has been a lot of rumors, accusations, drama, and unnecessary back and forth surrounding the Sheriff’s race.

From day one, I made a promise to myself that I would run a clean race. I have ignored unnecessary drama and have only defended myself or acknowledged drama when directly approached regarding it. I understand that many people are emotionally invested, and whether you support me or one of my opponents, I truly appreciate it, because it shows how much our community cares about the future of Adair County.

When you choose to run for a position like this, you also accept that not everyone will agree with you. There will be criticism, opinions, and negativity. I have to see the positive and negative said about myself and I came into this prepared for that, and I can handle it.

What I was not prepared for over the last several days is supporters on all sides including my own attacking one another over political opinions or views. This is completely unnecessary, uncalled for, and out of line.

We are all still neighbors. We will still see each other throughout this community. I do not want hard feelings or division left behind because of a campaign I was part of.

I recently heard the phrase “haters are going to hate” in reference to this race, and I respectfully disagree. For me, I will continue to lead with respect and treat people the right way, no matter their opinion and urge everyone to do the same. We can all have an opinion and be respectful to others. After May 19th, we all will continue with our day to day lives and the elected sheriff will take office on January 1st. We cannot control forcing everyone to vote for who you feel is best but we can control how we speak and treat others.

At the end of the day, we are all Adair County.

Tonight is Prom Night here in Adair County! A night many have been excited for!

I want to remind everyone to make safety a priority!!

PARENTS, please take a moment to check in with your kids and have a safety talk.

KIDS, have a great time and look out for one another! I promise a phone call to a loved one, friend, or family for a ride is better than them receiving a phone call that something has happened to you or anyone else. Make smart choices, if you know someone is driving impaired or doing anything that could harm themselves or others call 911 and report it.

This may seem like a small thing, but during an emergency every second matters. If first responders cannot easily see your address from the road, it can delay response time for law enforcement, fire departments, or EMS trying to locate you.

I’ve noticed a lot of homes do not have visible address markers a simple way to help prevent that delay is by installing a clearly visible address marker at your home.

The Adair County 911 Center sells reflective address markers for $20 and they are designed to be easily seen from the road, even at night. It’s a small investment that could make a big difference when seconds matter most. Stop by and see them at 107 North High Street or give them a call.

At 43 years old, I was given the opportunity to go through the police academy and fulfill my dream to become a deputy.

I wasn’t the youngest in the class. I didn’t have the same recovery time, and I didn’t have anything handed to me. What I did have was life experience, discipline, and a clear understanding of why I was there.

There were physical, mental, and emotional challenges. But I showed up every day, put in the work, and I succeeded. Not because it was easy, but because I refused to quit. Age, lack of experience, or fear of failure didn’t hold me back, it sharpened me.

Going through the academy later in life taught me something important; maturity matters. Perspective matters. Knowing how to handle pressure, take responsibility, and to make sound decisions not shortcuts.

I also learned something else that I carry with me every day, and that is that no one knows everything, and when I don’t know something, I don’t pretend to. I ask questions. I seek training. I learn from those with experience. That mindset makes better deputies, stronger leadership, and safer communities.

I feel that I have spent my 10 years in law enforcement learning to be the best servant to Adair County that I can be and learning every aspect I can while also being aware of responsibilities and duties of the leaders above me.

If elected as your Sheriff, I will continue to lead the same way I always have with work ethic, accountability, and the humility to keep learning.

Although I have not been your sheriff before I will work every single day to gain your trust and to continue learning how I can best serve Adair County.

This isn’t about winning.
This isn’t about popularity.

It’s about commitment.
It’s about growth.
It’s about being prepared to serve Adair County the right way.
