The last two winters have provided us with the relatively new challenge of extremely cold temperatures. As we begin to encounter similar challenges for this winter, it is our strong belief that we can conduct a regular school day for the majority of these types of days, particularly when road conditions are not an issue. Perhaps an interesting piece of information is that, typically, the temperature at 7:00 a.m. is the same as that at 9:00 a.m. (the times that students are getting on buses for a regular day v. a 2-hour delay day). Additionally, we are concerned about the hardships that are created for many parents, especially those with young children, when we deviate from the routine of a normal school day.
Our running "ON TIME" is always contingent on all buses starting as expected and all school buildings being warm. As always, parents have the ultimate option as to whether or not their children attend school. Any student not attending school due to extreme weather conditions will be granted an excused absence and any work missed may be completed for credit.
We appreciate continued patience with us as we work through the rest of the winter.
