Some of the addresses that are participating are: 6410 Birkewood Street & 6240 Willowcrest Rd. on Saturday and Sunday 1930 Fairhaven Rd. & 6591 Sharon Woods Blvd on Friday and Saturday & 6144 Darby Lane on Friday. 6404 Sharon Woods on Saturday & 2053 Willow Glen Ln and 6272 Faymeadow Ln. are also having sales. Take a walk around the neighborhood and check out these sales if you are looking for a good deal!

President Report (Thomas Page)- see NCC Dev Minutes

VP Report (Elizabeth Fulakis)- We had a great National Night Out event in August. Hundreds of people were there, and the community was able to interact with the Columbus Police.

NCC Meeting (Elizabeth Fulakis)– The public comment period is now open for Zone In Phase 2. Our Community Liaison, Devin Deal, spoke at this month’s meeting, and anyone from our community can attend as a representative. Let Elizabeth know if you would like to join her at a future meeting. 500K requests were raised with 311 last year. It is a great service, and the best way to get your issues resolved. 2026 09 NCC_agenda

NCC Dev Meeting- There were 3 cases heard. One was in our area. It was for St. Josephine Bakhita Parish on Sharon Woods and Alpine, and they want to install a digital sign. It was approved by the committee. NCC_Development_Agenda_20260826

Secretary Report (Laura Bastin)– Notes for this meeting will be posted on our website. We have moved our payment platform from Square to Zeffy, and we will send information about this.

Treasurer Report (Karen Osmond): You can get the latest report by reaching out to [email protected] Karen is looking for someone to replace her as the Treasurer.

Beautification (Penny Hackbarth): Penny is looking for volunteers to help keep the Sharon Woods/161 Islands taken care of. The next clean-up is scheduled for Saturday 9/12 starting at 9am. It would be ideal if someone could bring a lawnmower and a trimmer.

New Business:

Elizabeth is proposing Lisa Sokol as a New Trustee. The Board will review the process for this before our next meeting.

We just received an update from the City of Columbus about imminent changes to Sharon Woods Blvd:

“Resurfacing work will take place in the next week, pending weather conditions. The attached flyer outlines the limits of the two‑way bike lane, highlights project benefits, and includes a brief FAQ for residents regarding trash collection. This flyer is also being distributed to homes along Sharon Woods Blvd.”

Here is a project overview statement from the City:

“The City of Columbus will install a dedicated two-way bike lane on the east side of Sharon Woods Blvd for safe bicycle travel to neighborhood and other destinations, including Beechcroft High School, Northgate Intermediate School, Beechcroft and Northgate parks and area churches. On-street parking will remain on the west side.”

National Night Out is coming up on Tuesday, August 4, and we are inviting local organizations and artisans to host a table or booth there. If you would like to promote your workplace, hobbies, craft, or initiative, please let us know! Simply send an email to [email protected], and she will review your request and confirm space availability.

Due to limited table availability, we ask that table hosts each bring their own tables to set up. Access to the venue for table setup will be available at 4:30pm on August 4.

The Sharon Woods Civic Association is trying our best to continue serving our community as we have in the past. We have a severe lack of funding and volunteers which makes our normal activities difficult to complete. We are currently looking for additional volunteers to deliver the Gatepost Door Hangers in our neighborhood. We will not be able to deliver the Gatepost to the streets listed below without your help. Please email [email protected] if you are able to deliver to any of these streets.
