Today, Ohio Humanities is launching “Fund Culture Here,” a statewide advocacy campaign supporting federal funding for state humanities councils and the communities they serve.

Across Ohio, humanities funding supports museums, libraries, archives, documentaries, oral history projects, educational programs, literacy initiatives, historic preservation efforts, festivals, and cultural organizations in communities across all 88 counties.
Congress appropriated funding for state humanities councils, but uncertainty remains around the release of those funds and future federal support. At the same time, Congress is preparing to begin work on FY27 funding for the National Endowment for the Humanities and state humanities councils.

We are asking Ohioans to contact their members of Congress — especially Senator Jon Husted — and urge support for:
• FULL FY27 funding for state humanities councils
• the release of ALL congressionally appropriated NEH funding intended for Ohio communities

The humanities help communities preserve local history, strengthen civic life, expand educational opportunities, and tell the stories that connect Ohioans to one another.
