Bartholomew County 4-H Fair, Inc Join us for the Bartholomew County 4-H Fair! The fairgrounds were originally located on 25th Street which is now the Fair Oaks Mall. In 1956 a group of community leaders decided it was time to have a fairgrounds that was operated and maintained by an elected group of people who were interested in improving the conditions for the 4-Hers and businesses.

On May 7th, 1956 a group of citizens met and decided to form a corporate body, later called the Bartholomew County 4-H Fair, Inc. The first elected board of directors was elected at this meeting. They were Carl Fox, Martha Doup, Perry Doup, Harry Embry, Henry Hoevener, Walter Miller, B. Parker Newsom, Sr., Wendel Shireman, and J. Perry Thompson. The corporate papers were officially signed November

We still have room for boats in either bldg 1 ($4/ft until Apr 3) or the barn ($1.50/ft until Mar 6.) We can also store campers in the barn for the same cost and timing. Call the fair office at 812-372-6133.

Looking for boat or RV storage? You can store your boat, camper or car in a building at the Bartholomew County Fairgrounds for $4/foot/month, (including hitch length.) Or store items in the livestock barn at $1.50/foot/month. We will accept items on Sunday, Nov 7, from noon-2pm. Items stored in the Pavilion must be removed on March 6 (noon-2pm.) Boats, cars or shorter items stored in a building must be removed on April 3 (noon-2pm.) Contact the fairgrounds at (812) 372-6133 during the week 9am-1pm if you have questions.

7:30 a.m. Livestock Auction Buyers Breakfast – Pavilion
8:15 a.m. 4-H Livestock Sale – Pavilion
5–9 p.m. 4-H Community Building, Family Arts, and Commercial Buildings open
2 -10 p.m. Midway Opens – $30 wristbands until close
7 p.m. Demolition Derby sponsored by Toast Promotion – Grandstand
7 p.m. Blacksmithing Demonstration- Heritage Building
8 – 10 p.m. 4-H Project Release (Family Arts Exhibits also have early release)

SUNDAY, JULY 4

Noon – 3 p.m. 4-H and Family Arts Release Exhibits (This is the only time you may pick up exhibits from the Family Arts
Building.)

ALL EXHIBITS MUST BE PICKED UP. NO PROJECTS WILL BE BROUGHT BACK TO THE EXTENSION OFFICE. ALL PROJECTS NOT COLLECTED AFTER DESIGNATED PICKUP TIMES WILL BE DISCARDED.

Would your business like to reach more people at the Bartholomew County 4-H Fair and also support activities at the fair? You could "OWN" a bench, a picnic table or a sign on the fairgrounds.

Bench - $150/yr or $75/yr for a half bench
Track Sign - $150/yr + $100 to make the sign the 1st year
Livestock Fence Sign - $100/yr + cost of signage
Picnic Tables - $100/yr + cost of signage

If you would like to support the 2021 Bartholomew County 4-H Livestock Sale, but can't be here in person, you can be a Friend of 4-H. Friends of 4-H is an opportunity for businesses to donate money to the Bartholomew County 4-H Livestock Auction without having to designate which youth’s animal is purchased.

You may do this by making a minimum $50.00, tax-deductible donation to the Bartholomew County Friends of 4-H Fund. Your donation, along with all other donations to the fund, will be combined and used to purchase animals at the 4-H Livestock Sale. A representative of the 4-H Livestock Sale Committee will act as the bidder for the Friends of 4-H.

Please complete a Friends of 4-H form (name for advertising and address) and send with your check to Bartholomew County 4-H Livestock Sale, PO Box 342, Columbus, IN 47202 or bring it to the fair office or to the auction clerk desk before the auction starts. Checks should be made payable to: Bartholomew County 4-H Livestock Auction.

The 2021 Livestock Auction will be Saturday, July 3, 8:15am at the Livestock Pavilion, with a Buyer's breakfast prior.

Any individual or business can be a buyer at the auction. You can pre-register by messaging this page or calling 812-350-1526. Or you can register the day of the sale before 8:15am.

As in 2020, all species will sell as a "Premium Only" with the appraisal value only being charged to the buyer if the buyer wants to take the animal home or to be sent to a meat locker. A base price will be established for each, which will become the first bid in the sale.
