What an incredible turnout for the AALA Columbus Back-to-School Mixer. Thank you to every member of our host committee and to everyone who joined us. Your presence showed us why education matters so much. Education has the power to change lives. It opens doors, builds confidence, and gives people the tools to shape their own futures. When we invest in education, we invest in the growth of our entire community and in the knowledge that gets passed from one generation to the next.
Education does not occur in isolation. It happens through community. The relationships we build and the social ties we create are what give education itโs power, turning individual learning into collective growth. These connections are often what carry us through the hardest moments, whether we are navigating a classroom, a career, or a personal challenge. Community is not separate from the work of education. It is the foundation that makes the work possible.
As we start this new school year, we are facing ever increasing difficult times. Public education continues to face dismantling and defunding and higher education is met with growing distrust from many corners. These challenges are real, and they make gatherings like this one even more necessary.
To everyone who showed up and stood in community, thank you. Together we are proving that our commitment to education and community is stronger than the obstacles in front of us.๏ฟผ Hereโs to a successful school year!
