What an incredible turnout for the AALA Columbus Back-to-School Mixer. Thank you to every member of our host committee and to everyone who joined us. Your presence showed us why education matters so much. Education has the power to change lives. It opens doors, builds confidence, and gives people the tools to shape their own futures. When we invest in education, we invest in the growth of our entire community and in the knowledge that gets passed from one generation to the next.

Education does not occur in isolation. It happens through community. The relationships we build and the social ties we create are what give education itโ€™s power, turning individual learning into collective growth. These connections are often what carry us through the hardest moments, whether we are navigating a classroom, a career, or a personal challenge. Community is not separate from the work of education. It is the foundation that makes the work possible.

As we start this new school year, we are facing ever increasing difficult times. Public education continues to face dismantling and defunding and higher education is met with growing distrust from many corners. These challenges are real, and they make gatherings like this one even more necessary.

To everyone who showed up and stood in community, thank you. Together we are proving that our commitment to education and community is stronger than the obstacles in front of us.๏ฟผ Hereโ€™s to a successful school year!

Eighteen years ago, we started a simple family tradition. Sit down together every August and set goals for the school year. One goal eventually became six goals and along the way my children taught me lessons I didnโ€™t expect. One lesson about rest came from my sonโ€˜s decision to add โ€œtake a daily napโ€ to his senior year goals. Yes, really! This year, Iโ€™m sitting down with my youngest for the last time and it has me thinking about everything this tradition taught our family over the years. Check out my latest LinkedIn article where I share some of the lessons we learned.

For the past 18 years my family has sat down to set goals for the school year ahead. It started with one goal and grew into six. Along the way my children taught me valuable lessons including one that came in the form of a daily nap. This year, I'm sitting down with my youngest for the last time bef...

Happy to be featured in the 2026 Aspire BIG Book of Business. Back in ๏ฟผ2016 we bet on potential. We believed that with civic education, empathy, and community every person could do something impactful. That belief led us to start the WORTH Foundation / WORTHFoundation Cols to help people lead and transform their communities. 10 years later that bet has helped give over $22,000 in scholarships and continues to impact lives๏ฟผ.

You can help us keep that bet going by donating https://worthfoundationcol.wixsite.com/worthfoundationcols. Thank you to everyone who believed in our mission.
