Columbus Utilities has recently filed an application with the Public Service Commission (PSC) seeking authorization to move forward with a project to replace aging electric infrastructure. This upgrade includes improvements to substations and distribution equipment to help maintain reliable and efficient service.

As part of its standard process, the PSC reviews all Construction Authorization (CA) requests before any work begins. This review ensures that proposed projects are necessary, cost-effective, and in the best interest of customers. The PSC’s evaluation includes an investigation into the scope and justification of the project before granting approval.

At this time, the project is under review, and no construction activities will begin until the PSC has completed its process and issued a decision.
