Drum roll, please... 🥁

The total amount of Styrofoam recycled for the first month of the Recycling Convenience Center being open is 1,227 lbs. Wow! Way to go, Worthington!

Ever wonder what happens to your Styrofoam when you recycle it? Once it is collected, it is transported to SWACO’s facility located on Jackson Pike in Franklin County. They then place it in a machine that compresses it down to logs as pictured. The Styrofoam logs are then shipped off to Mason, Ohio, to Eco Development, where they become boogie boards, picture frames, and more.

➡️ Please visit our website to learn more about what types of Styrofoam we accept: https://tinyurl.com/m24nwyaf

If you are not a Worthington resident, you may recycle your Styrofoam at SWACO’s HHW Facility located at 645 E 8th Avenue. Visit SWACO to learn more ways to recycle: www.swaco.org/diversion/residents/household-hazardous-waste/

The trees on the Village Green have stories to tell 🌳

Rooted In Time offers a fresh look at our local arboretum, combining local history, tree identification, and stories you may have walked past dozens of times without knowing.

As part of America's 250th anniversary, we'll explore how trees have stood through generations of change and what they can tell us about Worthington's past.

Presented by Worthington Parks & Recreation, the Worthington Historical Society, and Worthington Libraries
