As I come here to close out this campaign page, I think about how many of my supporters express sadness that I did not win, but I feel no disappointment. God has taught me that not everything He calls us to comes with a guarantee of what we consider success. At times, His plan is to develop something in us or prune something out of us. I am His workmanship, His masterpiece, and He will complete what he has started in me. I think about how He sent Moses to Pharaoh knowing his heart was hardened, and Moses went reluctantly. God was preparing Moses for a great work, and He used Pharaoh's defiance to shape him. This clip blessed me years ago, helping me to understand how God works.

Many of us have become disillusioned by the numerous promises made by politicians during each election cycle. The fact that 90% of Compton residents do not participate in voting significantly impacts the level of neglect our city experiences across all sectors.

During the Budget workshop, Bower referenced alternative policing but was somewhat vague regarding any specifics. The Public Safety Commission to give a recommendation to the council was examining how other cities utilize Public Safety Officers to assist the Police by alleviating some of the non-emergency dispatch responsibilities. I believe we were planning a trip to Lancaster to observe their system.

As a Compton resident, I share your frustration with navigating our city; encountering potholes, witnessing the unhoused struggling throughout our community, and observing s*x workers on the boulevard. These are indeed symptoms of a larger issue stemming from our council's lack of cohesive leadership and a failure to prioritize the needs of us, the residents.
