Tonight’s National Night Out at the Concord Library was a great example of community connection and collaboration!

I had the opportunity to volunteer with VIPS – Volunteers in Police Service, led by the incredible Trish, as we shared important information about the Concord CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) program and disaster preparedness materials with neighbors and families.

It was inspiring to see so many local organizations come together to support public safety, community wellness, and engagement, including:

🎉 National Night Out at the Concord Library is tomorrow! 🎉
Join us for a fun, free, family-friendly evening filled with community connection, cool giveaways, and good vibes. We’ll have local organizations, games, and surprises waiting for you—don’t miss it!

📍 Concord Library
📅 Tuesday, August 5th
🕔 5–7 PM

We've got a lot of fun activities planned! Live music with the Unconcord. Library staff are making Free tropical fruit mocktails, Sno-Cones, and Popcorn. We've got the Let's Roll parade, decorate your bikes, scooters, wagons, strollers, wheelchairs from 5-6pm and then parade around the Library and Civic Center from 6-7pm. It's going to be awesome! The K-9 Team will be on site and there's going to be art activities, football fun, and the Concord Friends of the Library City of Concord, California Concord Police K9 Association Concord Historical Society Community Concern for Cats Concord Art Association and many more will be there! Looking forward to seeing everyone tomorrow at 5-7pm 🎉🎉🎉

Proud to support the Concord Junior Giants, a program that gave over 430 kids the chance to play ball, stay active, and grow through the league’s core values: health, confidence, integrity, teamwork, education, and striking out bullying.

Huge thanks to Ana Villalobos for her tireless dedication in making this all-abilities, non-competitive league a fun and inclusive space for every child in Concord.

Grateful to Marathon for their generous support of the fields and financial backing—and to all the incredible sponsors who helped make this summer season possible.

The Greater Concord Chamber of Commerce held a special mixer yesterday at the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano, bringing together local business and community leaders to celebrate an important milestone—50 years of service by the Food Bank.

For five decades, the Food Bank has provided critical support to individuals and families facing food insecurity throughout the region. Their unwavering commitment to ending hunger has made a lasting impact in Contra Costa and Solano counties.

Attendees had the opportunity to tour the facility, connect with fellow Chamber members, and recognize the vital role the Food Bank plays in strengthening the community.

A heartfelt thank you to the Food Bank for hosting and to everyone who joined in honoring this remarkable organization and its 50 years of service.

Moving Concord Forward

As your Mayor, I am working every day to support public safety services, accelerate economic development, improve aging infrastructure, while maintaining a balanced budget.

I’m encouraged by the progress we’re making. We’ve strengthened our local economy through new businesses development and job creation, new retail, and new housing. We continue to do more to intensify economic development and ensure local residents work on our new projects and infrastructure.

I’ll continue to be a strong advocate for public safety and work with neighborhoods and other partners to prevent crime. A top priority is to maintain reliable management of our budget while providing quality city services and properly maintained infrastructure.

To build community spirit, I founded and continue to produce the Concord July 4th Festival and Fireworks, now a well-attended and annual tradition for Concord residents.
