Hi, my name is Heather Neiderhiser and I am a parent, advocate, and committed member of the Connellsville Area School district, I am eager to serve the school board for a multitude of reasons, each driven by a deep commitment. Being a parent with a son in the district and one who just recently graduated in 2023, I understand firsthand the concerns and aspirations of our students, parents, and teachers. I will work diligently to improve our schools' education, safety, budget, and transparent with the work that we do.
Transparency and accountability will be one of the foremost commitments. I firmly believe that open, honest communication is the cornerstone of trust. As a parent, I understand the importance of being informed about our schools’ decisions and policies. If elected, I will work tirelessly to ensure that the school board is open, accessible, and forthcoming with information, allowing parents and the community to actively engage in the education process. To effect positive change, we must work together as a community.
I understand the challenges and joys of parenthood. I understand the concerns and aspirations we hold for our children. My vision for our schools is one where each student has the opportunity to reach their full potential, where teachers are supported, heard, and valued, and where parents and the community are engaged.
School safety is another topic I will be passionate about. Ensuring the safety of our children is non-negotiable. I am committed to implementing and maintaining policies that create a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for students and teachers. In today’s world, this includes addressing issues like bullying, cyberbullying, and drugs, as well as proactively preparing for emergencies.
I humbly ask for your support and your vote to bring positive change to our school board. My name will not appear on the ballot but I would appreciate your write-in vote. Together, we can create a school district that truly represents the needs and dreams of our children. I look forward to getting the opportunity to work with the other board members for the betterment of all aspects of our district.
