Before becoming an owner, she enjoyed attending open play sessions with her son who’s diagnosed with attention-deficit disorder. She found solace in wa
tching him play and stimulate the seven senses in a place where she “never had to say I’m sorry”®️ for his hyper activity. With a deep personal connection to the mission of our facility, Brandy’s journey from parent to owner is fueled by her dedication to providing a welcoming and inclusive space for children of all abilities. Brandy brings a wealth of knowledge, experience, and enthusiasm. She has a bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications and Business from Texas Woman’s University, a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Concordia University, and a Doctorate degree from Southern Methodist University in Education Leadership and Policy. Brandy has nearly 20 years of experience working with neurodivergent and neurotypical children and adults serving in the roles of athletic coach, elementary and middle school teacher, Instructional Coach, Magnet Coordinator, Assistant Principal, University Professor, and District Administrator supporting Multi-Tiered Systems of Support. Brandy is also very passionate about health and fitness as she is CPR certified, a certified personal trainer and nutrition coach, and USATF Level 1 certified coach for track and field. Brandy is a fierce advocate for equity and innovation and enjoys working with leaders of all ages – whether they are parents, professionals, educators, future educators, students, or athletes. At the heart of Brandy’s journey is her family. She is married and the proud mother of two children. Her personal experiences as a parent, coupled with her professional expertise, uniquely position her to create a space where families like hers feel understood, supported, and empowered. As the owner of We Rock the Spectrum – The Woodlands, Brandy is excited to continue fostering a community where children can play, grow, and thrive without limitations. We Rock the Spectrum Kid’s Gym was founded to provide a place for children of all ability levels to play and grow together. As the only kid’s gym that offers an all-inclusive philosophy we have found all children can benefit from our uniquely designed sensory equipment that is specifically designed to aid children with sensory processing disorders. However, in our experience, all children are able to benefit greatly from this equipment and by allowing children of all ability levels to play together they are able to learn a great deal from each other and become the best motivation for success on every level. The unique sensory equipment found at We Rock the Spectrum Kid’s Gyms includes ten pieces of specialized equipment that is specifically designed for children with sensory processing disorders. This equipment aids them in the improvement of their sensory functions while they learn and play. The equipment is specialized, but all children can and will benefit from the use of this equipment at our gym in order to grow, improve skills, learn, and master their own body weight and movements while using this unique, dynamic and exciting equipment. As our retail portion of the We Rock the Spectrum Kid’s Gym, parents and therapists have the ability to purchase some unique and fun sensory-based toys at our retail store, The Rock Shop. Full of great fun and learning, these toys are meant to continue a child’s growth and improvement of their skills at home. Those wishing to purchase some of these awesome sensory-based toys to help their children at home can ask assistance from the staff in order to make sure they are purchasing the correct item. This gives parents and therapists an opportunity to have some of the same toys/equipment at home that is found in the small play area of the gym. Often these toys are selected based on a positive reaction children have to them at the gym which gives parents the confidence the child will enjoy the toy at home as well. With sensory-based equipment designed for all children to improve their abilities, a staff full of people who work tirelessly to help children grow and improve, parents who care, contribute, and encourage all to grow, and some awesome toys that can be purchased at The Rock Shop is it really any wonder why We Rock the Spectrum Kid’s Gym is one of the highest rated kids gyms for all children in the nation?
