📚First Day of School!

Conroe ISD and Willis ISD students are heading back to class today, which means our roads and school zones will be busier than usual.

Please be patient, expect delays, and stay alert for children walking, biking, or getting on and off school buses.

The Conroe Police Department will have an increased presence in and around school zones. Slow down, obey posted speed limits and crossing guards, stop for school buses when required, and put the phone down.

Let’s all do our part to make the first day back a safe one! 🎒🚌

🚨Media Release🚨
On August 6th, 2026, a Montgomery County Jury sentenced 23-year-old Logan Michael Parker to two life sentences after finding him guilty of Aggravated Sexual Assault and Aggravated Kidnapping. These charges stemmed from a violent attack
that occurred in the early morning of April 10th, 2025.

On that morning, Parker arrived at a convenience store within the City of Conroe, kidnapped and sexually assaulted a pregnant store clerk. Officers quickly arrived at the location and immediately began providing the victim with care and investigating this awful sequence of acts. Surveillance footage was located that provided still frames of the suspect and the suspect’s vehicle.

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Real Time Crime Center was provided with a picture of the suspect and quickly identified him as Logan Michael Parker. The vehicle description was input into the FLOCK camera system, and a license plate was discovered. Further investigation with FLOCK and a resilient effort from the Conroe Police Department’s Patrol division located Parker’s vehicle just hours after this offense took place. Parker was in the vehicle and arrested.

Once Parker was in custody, the Criminal Investigations Division took charge and began interviews and evidence collection. Through this collaborated effort between all divisions involved, the case was presented to the Montgomery County District
Attorney’s Office where it was prepared for trial.

Thanks to numerous citizens, Conroe Police Officers, detectives and investigators who worked as a team along with talented prosecutors to ensure that there were no unanswered questions about solving this crime. The jury listened to all available evidence from both the prosecution and defense. They evaluated every known fact from that unforgettable night back in April and handed a strong guilty verdict on
both charges.

“I am very thankful that we have a professional, experienced, and well-trained collaborative team in Montgomery County that can respond to a terribly impactful crime like this with swiftness and empathy. Through the use of all of our available tools and tactics, our team was able to develop and place a dangerous criminal like
this in custody in a matter of hours,” said Chief Jon Buckholtz.

“Not days. Not weeks. Not multiple crime scenes and multiple additional victims later as we might have experienced years ago before video and technology. This subject was located and separated from society in hours. That was made possible
through the tools of modern law enforcement and, importantly, good, solid police
work.”

The CPOA would like to take a moment to sincerely thank Mayor Duke C**n, Mayor Pro Tem John Sellars, Councilman Hairel, Councilwoman Arthur, Councilwoman Hoisington, and Councilman Blevins for bringing police officer pay to the forefront and recognizing the importance of investing in the people who serve our community.

Thank you for listening to our concerns, asking the important questions, and showing a willingness to address an issue that has affected so many dedicated police officers. Your leadership and commitment to having these conversations demonstrate that you value the police officers who work every day to serve our citizens.

While there is still work to be done, your support and your willingness to make police compensation a priority is deeply appreciated.
