For the past several days, we have been working diligently with the South Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles (SC DMV) for clarification on updated identification requirements for in office vehicle title and registration transactions.
This morning, we received an official document from the SC DMV outlining the changes and providing the updated requirements for acceptable forms of identification. Individuals registering a vehicle for the first time, must provide identification that meets statutory requirements.
As stated in our previous post, we must also follow these requirements to ensure our taxpayers receive accurate and adequate assistance and are properly prepared before making a trip to the SC DMV.
