☀️⛱️ As we enter the summer season we have some changes to our hours and facilities. Thompson Library will be open all summer. Kimbel Library and Bryan Information Commons will be closed for further improvements for the Fall 2026 semester.

Thompson Library Summer Hours:
Sunday: 1 pm - 9 pm
Monday-Thursday: 7:30 am - 9 pm
Friday: 7:30 am - 3:30 pm
Saturday: 10 am - 6 pm

We couldn’t let you leave for summer without getting a peek! Students are invited to take advantage of the soft opening of Kimbel Library. University Libraries is so excited to share early access to the newest version of this classic campus building, originally built in 1977.

Beginning Monday, April 27, at 10 a.m., Kimbel Library will be open as an additional study space to support students through final exams. Students can utilize the Silent Study area, a distraction-free zone to support student productivity, as well as collaborative study areas including 11 new reservable study rooms.

Following commencement, Kimbel Library will close again briefly to facilitate finishing touches like the addition of the browsable collection and preparations for the Henry B. Burroughs Jr. Archives and Special Collections reading room. Library staff are working diligently to bring these spaces online for students’ return in August and to continually Level Up the library experience at Coastal Carolina University.
