This week, our President, Sheena Tanner, attended the City of Copperas Cove City Council meeting to speak during Citizens’ Forum in support of a Pride Proclamation and in support of creating a community where every resident feels seen, valued, and represented.
As President of Democrats of Copperas Cove and Vice President of Central Texas Pride Community Center, Sheena continues to demonstrate what local leadership looks like: showing up, listening, speaking with compassion, and advocating for a community where everyone belongs.
Public service starts with local action. It means attending meetings, engaging with leaders, sharing community concerns, and working toward a better future for all residents.
We are proud of Sheena for representing our organization and our values with courage and heart. We are also grateful to the community and DOCC members who showed up to share their voices and support this important conversation.
A special thank you to the City of Copperas Cove City Council for listening, hearing the request, and taking steps toward placing a Pride Proclamation discussion on a future agenda. We appreciate leaders who are willing to engage with their community and listen to the voices of residents.
Copperas Cove is a community made up of many stories, backgrounds, and experiences. We believe our city is strongest when everyone has a place at the table.
Cove is for everyone.
