Comanche Company launched this month’s Inactive Duty Training (IDT) period with a ruck march to the training area, followed by patrol base operations and squad battle drills, including react to contact and squad attack scenarios. Both day and night iterations were executed to build adaptability in varied conditions. Back at the armory, a promotion ceremony honored SGT Hicks’ advancement to Staff Sergeant for his outstanding leadership.

Sunday featured a classroom session on patrol bases and Objective Rally Points (ORPs), reinforcing hands-on skills with strategic insights. This weekend highlighted the unit’s dedication to readiness, resilience, and teamwork in service to the U.S. Army.

This December IDT, our Soldiers executed day and night react-to-contact drills with precision and intensity. In the holiday spirit, the Company conducted a formation ruck march in the rain, every Soldier carrying canned goods to deliver over 600 pounds of food directly to Cordele First Church’s community pantry.
Saturday afternoon, we paused to honor SSG Barnes at his retirement ceremony. After 22 years of exemplary leadership and selfless service, he leaves an enduring legacy. Thank you, SSG Barnes—enjoy your well-earned retirement.

Today, SFC Brown, SSG Gunn, and SGT Wimberley had the privilege of collaborating with the Crisp County Sheriff Dept. and Sheriff Billy Hancock during an Active Shooter Training Drill at a local school. Their presence and input were warmly welcomed, marking the beginning of a promising partnership with surrounding agencies. For July IDT Comanche Company Soldiers completed a 6-mile ruck march. The mission of the Infantry: “To close width and destroy the enemy”. This exercise creates a foundation to build lethality across the formation. Following the march, the troops were warmly received with a well-deserved breakfast, graciously prepared and served by Colonel (R) Bennet and his wife, whose continued support and commitment to the unit were deeply appreciated.

Comanche Company formally concluded its Annual Training cycle with a distinguished promotion ceremony, during which Private First Class Vaughn was advanced to the rank of Specialist. The training period featured a comprehensive array of exercises, including M4 weapons qualification, battle drill training, and a recognized need for multiple Preliminary Marksmanship Instruction (PMI) classes on various weapons systems, including the Squad Designated Marksman Rifle (SDMR), M249, M240B, Javelin, and M320. These efforts significantly bolstered unit preparedness and operational excellence.
