🚨 URGENT — LAST DAY OF CLEAR THE SHELTER. 🚨

Not ONE of these dogs was adopted over the weekend. 💔

And now we’re running out of time.
Gothel. Thalia. Randy.
Three beautiful dogs. Three lives that deserve so much more than a shelter kennel. Three dogs who have been waiting since 2025 for someone to finally say:
“You’re coming home with me.” 🏡❤️

Tomorrow — Monday, August 31st — is the LAST DAY of fee-free adoptions.

OUR MISSION ISN’T COMPLETE.

Tomorrow is our LAST Saturday for fee-free adoptions for 💔🐾
And we’re asking you to help us make it count.
We started this month with a mission: get every dog who entered our care in 2025 into a loving home by the end of the month.
We’re so close… but 3 of our 2025 dogs are still waiting.
And they aren’t the only ones.
There are several urgent dogs who have been sitting in our care for far longer than they ever should have. Dogs who have watched other dogs come and go. Dogs who have been passed over, overlooked, or simply haven’t had the right person walk through the door for them yet.
They are running out of time.
Tomorrow could be the day everything changes for them.
A kennel is not a home.
Waiting is not a life.
And every dog deserves a chance.
If you’ve been thinking about adopting, please don’t wait..
Tomorrow is the final Saturday of fee-free adoptions. Let’s fill kennels with empty beds and send these dogs HOME. 🏠❤️

We’re making a change to better serve our community and the animals in our care.
Starting tomorrow, Wednesday August 26th, the Corona Animal Shelter will be open:

Last but certainly not least… our three remaining dogs who came to us in 2025 are still waiting for their forever homes. ❤️
We’ve introduced you to all but one—Gothel. So please take a moment to read her story, and most importantly, share it.Her person may be out there, and we need your help finding them.
Gothel came to us alongside another dog who was adopted right away. We’re not sure why Gothel has waited so long. She’s mellow, but still has plenty of pep in her step. She loves rolling around in the grass, playing with toys, and soaking up affection from her people.
She came to us with her name, but not much else.
During her time in our care, Gothel has battled allergies. After finally finding the right management for her, her beautiful coat is growing back—and she is looking better than ever. ❤️
But the longer she waits, the harder it becomes.
Like so many dogs who have spent far too much time in a kennel, Gothel is starting to show signs of depression. She’s often found tucked away in the back of her kennel. But the moment she’s out with a person, receiving love and attention, her true personality shines through.
Gothel is spayed, ready to go, and appears to be dog friendly. All she needs now is someone willing to see past the kennel and give her the chance she’s been waiting for.
We want to send every dog who came to us in 2025 HOME this month. 🏡❤️
Our shelter is completely full once again, and we’re still fighting to . Gothel has waited long enough. Please share her story, tag a friend, and help us find the person who has been missing from her life.

Another day, another dog in need. Starlight is now our most urgent senior dog. Her health has been declining, and we desperately want to give her the comfort and care she deserves.
Starlight came to us with a torn ACL and couldn’t even walk on that leg. With proper pain management, she has surprisingly good mobility, but she is still painful from arthritis and living in a kennel. Recently, she has also developed a small mass in her right eye. We want to address her eye, but we also have to be realistic: managing her ongoing care in a shelter environment is more difficult than what we can offer in the shelter environment.
That’s where you come in. Starlight needs an adopter who can give her the quiet, comfortable space she needs to heal and simply relax. We are happy to take care of her medical, if we can find her a loving home.
She is easygoing, quiet, and social—a true lap companion who would love nothing more than to be close to her person. We don’t want to see her suffer any longer, and we don’t want her final days to be spent in a shelter.
Starlight also has several other senior friends waiting for their chance to go home. A shelter is no place for a senior dog to spend their final chapter. Please help us give Starlight (and our other seniors) the peaceful, loving home she deserves. Come visit Starlight tomorrow 10am-5pm!

The other day we showed you Cashmere and shared a little of her story.
Today, we’re sharing a much harder part of it.

Back in May, in partnership with PAWS, Cashmere underwent surgery to have a mass removed. She recovered from surgery in a foster home and then came back to the shelter hoping to find her forever home.

She was depressed in the shelter environment, but we noticed it appeared to be more than just that this time. Sadly, despite the mass removal, we have learned that Cashmere likely has cancer evidenced by small nodules around her pulmonary veins.

It’s times like these that we find ourselves reflecting on what could have been.
Cashmere had been waiting. Passed over time and time again while the days continued to add up.

This is why length of stay matters.
When we talk about an animal being in the shelter for 100, 200, or even 300+ days, it may sound like just a number.

But those aren’t just numbers to the animals. It’s time lost.

Swipe for those who have been passed over for almost a year now. And while they are loved and cared for while they wait, extended shelter stays can take a toll in ways that aren’t always visible.

Cashmere’s story makes the weight of that time lost especially difficult.

So, when you see us sharing the same dogs again and again, when you see us pleading for adopters to give a long-stay dog a chance — this is why. We don’t know what tomorrow will bring. But we do know that every day spent waiting is a day they could have spent home.

Cashmere has been placed back into a loving foster home for whatever time she has left. We share her story not to sow sadness, but to sow action. What can you do to help? You can share our posts, foster underage or medical needs animals, and of course.. ADOPT!

He has officially been ADOPTED! ❤️🐾
Shout out to his new dad for adopting. Why this gem wasn’t adopted sooner, we don’t know, but we do know Ziggy will be with us just a couple more days for his neuter then happy tails furrrrrever! 🤗
