Nearly 50 volunteers spent part of their Saturday cleaning up the Arroyo Colorado. In just three hours, they removed more than 3,600 pounds of debris. Read what volunteers had to say about the cleanup and where all that trash really came from.

🎉 Welcome to the Team, Annie! 🌊

We're excited to introduce Annie Zeiler, Coastal Bend Bays & Estuaries Program's new Up2U Coastal Program Coordinator!

Annie grew up in Wisconsin before making her way to Texas, where she has continued to pursue her passion for environmental conservation. She earned her B.S. in Environmental Sciences from the University of Minnesota and recently completed her master's degree in Ocean, Coastal, and Earth Sciences at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley.

During graduate school, Annie founded a Surfrider Foundation student club, where she discovered her passion for organizing beach and waterway cleanups along the South Texas coast. Now she's bringing that passion to CBBEP as she leads the expansion of the Up2U Litter Prevention Program across the entire Texas coast from South Padre Island to Galveston!
