💰 NCLEX FEE UPDATE: WHAT IEMN NEED TO KNOW

Planning to take—or retake—the NCLEX in 2027?

There is an important registration fee change you need to know about. 📢

At its recent Annual Meeting, the NCSBN Delegate Assembly voted to adjust the NCLEX registration fees.

📅 EFFECTIVE FEBRUARY 1, 2027:

🇺🇸 United States: $350 USD
🇦🇺 Australia: $350 USD
🇨🇦 Canada: $570 CAD

This is the first NCLEX registration fee adjustment since 2000.

According to NCSBN, the change reflects 25 years of inflation and the increasing costs associated with examination development, data protection, cybersecurity, and maintaining a secure and reliable licensure examination.

⚠️ HERE IS THE IMPORTANT PART:

Your FEE is determined by WHEN YOU REGISTER—not by the date you take the examination.

✅ Register BEFORE February 1, 2027 → Current fee applies.

❌ Register ON OR AFTER February 1, 2027 → New fee applies.

This applies to ALL NCLEX registrations, including RETAKES.

For IEMN, this is an important reminder:

📌 If you are planning your first NCLEX attempt or a retake, understand your registration timeline.

📌 Budget for the examination fee as part of your licensure journey.

📌 Remember that the NCLEX fee is only one part of the total cost of transitioning to nursing practice in the USA.

🌎 And one more important detail:

No other NCLEX fees are changing.

International scheduling fees and change fees remain the same, and the REx-PN examination fee is not affected.

💙 YOUR JOURNEY TO PROFESSIONAL NURSING IN THE USA REQUIRES PLANNING.

Know the requirements.
Know the costs.
Know your timeline.
Prepare intentionally.

And don’t let an unexpected fee become an unexpected obstacle.

📚 NCLEX RETAKE: WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

Didn’t pass the NCLEX-RN on your first attempt?

Take a breath. A retake is not the end of your journey—it is another opportunity to learn, adjust, and move forward. 💙

Here are important steps to know:

1️⃣ WAIT FOR YOUR OFFICIAL RESULTS
Once you receive your NCLEX results, you can begin the reregistration process.

2️⃣ CONTACT YOUR NRB
Notify your Nursing Regulatory Body (NRB) that you plan to retake the examination. Your NRB may have specific requirements you must complete before you can register again.

3️⃣ REREGISTER WITH PEARSON VUE
After fulfilling the requirements established by your NRB, complete the NCLEX reregistration process with Pearson VUE.

4️⃣ REMEMBER THE 45-DAY RULE
There must be at least 45 test-free days between NCLEX examinations.

⏰ WHY START EARLY?

Starting your reregistration process as soon as you receive your results may allow your Verification of Licensure (VOL) / Carta de No Sanción to be used again for the new registration, depending on your circumstances and NRB requirements.

And while you are waiting for your next eligibility authorization, don’t wait to start preparing. 📖

Your previous NCLEX experience is still fresh in your mind.

Ask yourself:
🔹 What areas challenged me?
🔹 What strategies worked—or didn’t work?
🔹 Did I struggle with time management?
🔹 Did I change my answers too often?
🔹 What content areas need reinforcement?
🔹 How can I improve my clinical judgment?

💡 A retake should not be a repetition of the same preparation.

It should be a NEW PLAN based on what you learned from your previous experience.

Your first result does not define your ability to become a professional nurse in the USA.

Learn. Adjust. Prepare. Try again. 💪🏼🇺🇸🩺

📌 SAVE this post so you can return to these steps when you need them.

And remember: every step in this journey can teach you something that prepares you for the next one.

🎉 CONGRATULATIONS! 🎉
Today we celebrate a remarkable achievement!
Please join us in congratulating our newest Registered Nurse, Mario H., RN, BSN, on successfully passing the NCLEX-RN! 🩺🇺🇸
This milestone represents countless hours of studying, perseverance through challenges, unwavering determination, and the courage to keep moving forward even when the journey was difficult.
Most importantly, today we give all glory and honor to God, who faithfully guided every step of this journey.
"As for you, be strong and do not give up, for your work will be rewarded."
— 2 Chronicles 15:7
Your success is a testimony that faith, preparation, and perseverance can overcome every obstacle.
May the Lord continue to direct your path as you begin this new chapter of serving others with excellence, compassion, and integrity.
"Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established."
— Proverbs 16:3
As followers of Yeshua, we remember that nursing is more than a profession—it is a calling to care for people with knowledge, skill, kindness, and the love of God.
To every Internationally Educated Mexican Nurse (IEMN) preparing for the NCLEX:
✨ Keep studying.
✨ Keep believing.
✨ Keep praying.
✨ Your breakthrough may be closer than you think.
"The Lord has done great things for us, and we are filled with joy."
— Psalm 126:3
