The Durham Foundation thanks everyone who participated in the 2026 "Through the Wicket" Croquet Tournament Fundraiser for the Community Child Care Assistance Fund!

Dr. Murphy won the prize from the Durham Home of Crawfordsville’s croquet tournament. She won a very nice croquet set. She is determined to teach her staff to play so we can win next year.

About that man on the roof.

Before she passed, Sarah Durham (1858-1937) established a trust in her name, specifically for the continued care, maintenance & improvements of her residence - the condition being that the property be forever used as a “benevolent home” for women.

Through the years, Sarah’s generosity has kept Durham Home of Crawfordsville beautifully well-maintained -and- also makes it an affordable place for women to live.

In preparation for our 2026 "Through the Wicket" Croquet Tournament fundraiser for the Community Childcare Assistance Fund, the Sarah Durham Trust has made it possible to make improvements to the Home’s south parcels - these projects will also be enjoyed by the residents through the year.

Durham Foundation board member Chet Parsons has created a real masterpiece this summer. Many hours of planning, personal labor and care went into its construction. It’s routinely observed - Sarah’s generosity is rather contagious in those that serve her memory.

$25 gets you in to enjoy fabulous refreshments from The Juniper Spoon & Tipsy Traveler, easy-peasy lawn games, rides in a Model T Ford, down time in the shade with friends, and more. Take up the opportunity to dress up vintage garden party style - or come casual!

Every dollar from event ticket sales and sponsorships will go to Durham Foundation's Community Childcare Assistance Pass-Through Fund at the Montgomery County Community Foundation.
