The Crawfordsville District is responsible for maintaining 5,003 lane miles of state roads, 850 lane miles of interstate, 1,556 large culverts, 899 state bridges, 159 snow routes, 378 traffic signals, 89 flashers, 48,283 road signs, and 969 panel signs. There are five sub-districts (Cloverdale, Crawfordsville, Fowler, Frankfort and Terre Haute) and 13 counties (Benton, Boone, Clay, Clinton, Founta

The Indiana Department of Transportation is accepting applications for Fiscal Year 2027 call for projects for the Community Crossings Matching Grant Program. 💸

Since 2016, the state has awarded more than $2 billion in matching funds to support local road and bridge projects across Indiana. 🛣🚗

Below is a picture of a familiar sight on State Road 234 at S.R. 63 over the last few weeks, and one that we should not be seeing at all.

We again would like to remind drivers to NEVER move barricades and NEVER drive around them. 🚧❌

Not only is this unsafe, but it is also illegal, and local law enforcement is ticketing drivers.

We are currently trying to conduct testing due to historic flooding that has impacted construction at this location.

In order to finish this project as quickly as possible, drivers need to respect the work zone and allow crews to finish the work that is underway. Otherwise, the project will be delayed further.

Thank you for your patience as we continue to improve our state-maintained roads in the area.

Beginning on/after today, August 31, crews will be closing the right lane of I-70 WB from Lake Valley Road to Hazelwood Road (MM 56-54). Crews will be doing full depth concrete patching. Drivers are encouraged to drive with caution. ⚠️
