The Crawfordsville District is responsible for maintaining 5,003 lane miles of state roads, 850 lane miles of interstate, 1,556 large culverts, 899 state bridges, 159 snow routes, 378 traffic signals, 89 flashers, 48,283 road signs, and 969 panel signs. There are five sub-districts (Cloverdale, Crawfordsville, Fowler, Frankfort and Terre Haute) and 13 counties (Benton, Boone, Clay, Clinton, Founta

in, Hendricks, Montgomery, Parke, Putnam, Tippecanoe, Vermillion, Vigo and Warren) within the Crawfordsville District.

🔄 PROJECT UPDATE 🔄

U.S. 150 by the Vigo County Courthouse has been impacted by lane closures and traffic pattern shifts since early March. INDOT contractors are doing complete pavement reconstruction (rebuilding all the way down to the dirt) and modernizing area intersections. 🛣🚦

As these pattern shifts continue, we encourage drivers to remain patient and use extra caution while traveling through the area, especially with pedestrians out and about around the local government buildings.

Construction is anticipated to be finished in September but is weather-dependent and subject to change. Multiple crews are currently removing the pavement west of the Wabash River and adding subgrade treatment (stone) to stabilize the roadway.

Curbing is being installed as well in front of the Social Security office on Cherry Street.

INDOT is appreciative of the partnership with local officials as we work to complete this project in a timely manner!

Last week, contractors poured the bridge deck for the new 52 at 65 diverging diamond interchange in Boone County! 🔷🚗😮

Here are some pictures of the concrete being poured, a beautiful sunrise over the construction site, and how things look from up above as progress continues! 📸

Drivers can continue to expect lane closures on I-65 over the next few months for overhead bridge work in the area, so please continue to use caution, especially during the overnight hours. ⚠️⚠️

June 6th is Secure Your Load Day, because what you carry affects everyone on the road. The INDOT Hoosier Helpers, sponsored by GEICO, work every day to clear debris that can cause crashes

Secure it. Double-check it. Drive with confidence: tie items down with rope, straps, or netting; secure large objects directly to your vehicle or trailer; cover loads with a sturdy tarp or net. Always check your load before you hit the road. And if you see INDOT Hoosier Helpers, sponsored by GEICO, stopped on the shoulder clearing debris, .

If you can: Change lanes away from the vehicle with flashing lights. If you can’t: Slow down to a safe speed based on road and traffic conditions.
