Vote Wendy Ault - City Council At Large

Vote Wendy Ault - City Council At Large As a mom of four who has always worked multiple jobs, I know what it takes to manage a budget, prioritize, and get things done.

I am a down to to earth resident who is focused on cutting through the noise and finding practical solutions for our town.

The Three R’s for Crookston’s Future

Rational Leadership: Good governance requires looking at every issue from all angles. I believe in thoughtful, objective decision-making where every perspective is heard and valued. In a tight-knit community like Crookston, we won't always agree, but we must always respect one another. I am committed to moving past divisive politics and focusing on professional, respectful collaboration—because being rude gets us nowhere. At the end of the day, we are all neighbors, and working together is the only true way forward.

Realistic Progress: We need to be honest and practical about Crookston’s financial realities. Being realistic means making tough but necessary choices about what we can and should do with our city’s budget. I will focus on sustainable growth—ensuring our tax dollars are managed responsibly while laying a pragmatic, achievable groundwork for what our city can look like in the years to come.

Resilient Community: Crookston is a town that knows how to bounce back. Whether facing economic shifts or local setbacks, our residents are incredibly resilient. To keep adapting with the times, we need strong, informed leadership in place. I will ensure our city council has the accurate data and transparent information required to make decisions that protect Crookston's future, helping us not just weather the tough times, but emerge stronger on the other side.

🗳️ My absolute favorite week of the year in Crookston! 🏙️

When new residents and visitors arrive, they are sometimes surprised we don't do fireworks on the 4th of July. I completely understand that feeling! But then I get to share what makes our community so uniquely special: our incredible, week-long Ox Cart Days celebration!

Seeing our streets filled with families, neighbors, and visitors having fun—especially my own kiddos—reminds me why I am running for City Council. We need leadership that supports the community traditions, local businesses, and safe neighborhoods that make Crookston a place we are all proud to call home.As you head out to enjoy the festivities this week, please stay safe, have fun, and make some wonderful memories! 🤝

👉 What is your absolute favorite Ox Cart Days tradition? Let me know in the comments!

I stay pretty true to the healthier side of life but everyone needs a cheat day sometimes! Going to Wonderful Life Foods doesnt even feel like im actually cheating! Using fresh, healthier ingredients with not only treats but breakfast, lunch and dinner items as well, you can still stay on track!

Try one of the take home meals! They looked delicious when I stopped in today. You can even grab some flowers from our friends at Kountry Korner Floral who keep Wonderful Life stocked with fresh flowers!

Got a tasty little raspberry bar! Cant wait!

Night to Unite is one of my favorite times of the year. Getting to see everyone in one space, learning more about what Crookston has to offer our families and of course, the prizes and dunk tank!! But my very favorite part is getting to see all of the kids! I enjoyed loading them up with candy yesterday! Hope you all had fun too! What was your favorite part?!

I had never been to the Riverview Auxiliary fundraiser "Affair of Tables" before. It was so much fun! The table we sat at (Thank you so much Sarah Klawitter!) was beautiful and a fun group! Definitely recommend! Dont forget your $$ next year and join us!

Let’s be honest: standing at a microphone in City Hall sounds terrifying to most people. Plus, who has hours to sit through a long meeting after a long day of work?

If you're unhappy with a council decision or confused about a new project, you shouldn't have to jump through hoops to get clarity. We want to make talking to us normal, easy, and stress-free. Skip the formal meeting and use these quick ways to get the answers you’re looking for:

Your council members contact information can be found on this page.

Give City Hall a call Ashley is incredibly knowledgeable about what we're working on in council, or schedule a time to meet with Darin our City Administrator.

We are all here for you!

From Foster Care to City Council: Why I'm Running

I don't share my background often, but it is the foundation of who I am today.

My childhood was highly unstable. After years of moving, experiencing homelessness, and eventually being left to navigate the world on my own at age 14, I entered the foster care system at 16. It was there that I learned the power of stability and support.

Against the odds, I put myself through school while working full-time. As a teen mom at 18, I worked my way up from the bottom of every job I took—eventually climbing the corporate ladder to become a Corporate Trainer for Amazon.com and transitioning into Human Resources.

None of my opportunities came easy. Every single one was earned through grit, long hours, and a refusal to give up.

Today, as a mom of four working multiple jobs, I am running for Crookston City Council because I believe our local government needs leaders who understand real-world struggle. My life has taught me how to listen, how to problem-solve under pressure, and how to fight for people who feel unseen. I want to bring that exact same work ethic to the city we love.
