Friday night at 5:00 we'll have the inaugural Dan Kelly Junior Fiddle Contest followed by the big barn dance. Saturday morning the bluegrass kicks off at 10:00!

ALERT: Your weekend agenda has arrived - and it's jam-packed! Tonight, come on down to the square for July's 1st Friday Night Market with more than 70 vendors, food trucks, and live entertainment. Plus, all of the downtown merchants are staying open late, including brand new pop-up shop, Eunoia Design Group - Fabrics & [email protected] at 101 5th Avenue. It all kicks off at 6 pm and is completely free to attend! Tomorrow, rise and shine early for the beginning of blueberry picking season with Shade Tree Farm and Orchard's opening day at 7 am! They'll be open 7-6 pm Saturday and Sunday, and serving lunch from their newly remodeled store, plus they'll have blueberry lemonade, baked goods and more. Admission to the farm is free! Then, Visit Cross Plains TN for the Cross Plains Heritage Commission's Kilgore Remembrance on Saturday, July 3 at 9:00 AM. The annual event is held at the Villines Cemetery, just west of downtown. They'll honor the flags of Thomas Kilgore and hear from a speaker. Bring your lawn chair! When you're done there, head over to Robertson County (TN) Farmers' Market and pick up your fresh veggies, baked goods, gifts and more from 8-12 pm at the fairgrounds. When you're done there, head on over to Greenbrier Turning of the Pig where they'll have vendors, food trucks, entertainment and more. End your Saturday evening at The Warehouse, Springfield's newest outdoor event venue, which will have live music, food trucks, vendors and a parking lot party! Gates open at 6:30 pm, music starts at 7 pm. $10 for those 11 and under at the gate. Shopping and food trucks are set up outside the gate so you can enjoy those for no additional charge other than the cost of goods. They're located at 4640 Hwy 41 N, across from the fairgrounds. Then, we'll end the weekend on Sunday with a bang at City of Springfield, TN - Government's Freedom Fest at the fairgrounds! This completely free event will have free parking, vendors, food trucks, live music and so much more. Plus, they'll have a tremendous fireworks display at dark! Gates open at 3 pm. Get ready, set, GO!

Visit Cross Plains TN's Trash & Treasures event is BACK this year! (I don't think we'll ever get tired of saying an event has returned after last year!) This community-wide yard sale is a huge event, drawing people from all over to shop and find the perfect something. It's a two day event, running June 25th and 26th and is sponsored by Cross Plains Heritage Commission to help maintain The Doctor's House Museum (also a very cool site to check out while in Cross Plains).
