All courts and offices at the Cumberland County Justice Center will operate as usual tomorrow, January 28, 2026.

***Office Closures and Opening***

Due to inclement weather, the office of the Circuit Court Clerk will be open tomorrow Tuesday, January 27, 2026 at 9 am.

However, the offices of the Clerk and Master’s, Youth Services, and the General Sessions Judges Office will be closed Tuesday, January 27, 2026.

***Court Closure***

Due to inclement weather, both Cumberland County General Sessions Civil Court and Truancy Court that are scheduled for Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at 8:30 AM before Judge Worley have been cancelled and will now be rescheduled on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at 8:30 AM.

In addition, all Probate and Family Chambers Docket have been cancelled for Tuesday, January 27, 2026. A notice will be sent out of new dates.

Due to inclement weather, the offices of the Circuit Court Clerk, Clerk and Master’s, Youth Services, and the General Sessions Judges Office will be closed Monday, January 26, 2026.

The Cumberland County General Sessions Court scheduled for Monday, January 26, 2026, at 8:30 AM before Judge Worley has been cancelled and will now be rescheduled on Monday, February 2, 2026, at 8:30 AM.
UNLESS, you have an Order of Protection, your case will be rescheduled to Thursday, January 29, 2026, at 8:30 AM.

All cases on the Cumberland County Child Support Docket for January 26, 2026, will be rescheduled as follows:
Respondents with last names A-G: 9 AM on Wednesday, February 4, 2026.
Respondents with last names H-Z: 9 AM on Monday, February 23, 2026.

Additionally, all Juvenile Court sessions for January 26, 2026, are cancelled and will be rescheduled to Monday, February 2, 2026, at 1 PM.

Judge Worley, Ben, and myself, along with our offices, would like to formally acknowledge our counties Maintenance Department for keeping our flags, always flying in great shape, always showing your patriotism and dedication to our flags. It has been a true honor to receive The Sons of the American Revolutionary plaque, and we will proudly be displaying it in our hallways for everyone to enjoy.

Due to the passing of former Circuit Court Clerk Larry V. Sherrill, the offices of the Circuit Court Clerk, Clerk & Master, and General Sessions Judge will close at noon on Thursday, August 7, 2025, and will reopen at 8:00 am on Friday, August 8, 2025.

Thank you Cumberland County for enabling us to incorporate the new jury box into one of our smaller courtrooms. This addition allows us to conduct jury trials in this space as well. Just look at this group! Judge Gary McKenzie successfully presided over the very first jury trial yesterday with this great team of attorneys!
