Calling all youth livestock exhibitors near Washington, D.C! 🐏🐮🐷🐐

History is happening on the National Mall this summer, and we want you to be part of it. Join us as a Youth Agricultural Ambassador during the 250th anniversary celebration of our nation at this year’s Great American State Fair. You’ll represent the next generation of agriculture by showcasing your animals and engaging directly with thousands of fairgoers from 10:00 AM–11:30 AM each day.

When: June 25 – July 10
Where: Washington, D.C. on the National Mall

Maryland 4-H celebrates Amanda Wahle, our 4-H Youth Development Specialist, Environmental Science, University of Maryland Extension, ACA, Chesapeake region, who recently received the National Service Award from the American Camp Association.

The American Camp Association® (ACA) is a national organization serving more than 15,000 year-round and summer camps in the US, which annually serve 26 million campers. ACA is committed to collaborating with those who believe in quality camp and outdoor experiences for children, youth, and adults.

The AAC 4-H Foundation is excited to sponsor the annual 4-H Variety Show on Sunday, February 22, 2026 (snow date: March 1) at the Baldwin Memorial United Methodist Church Educational Building in Millersville.

🕒 Doors open: 3:15 p.m.
🎤 Show begins: 4:00 p.m.
🎟 Cost: Free for participants and audience members

4-H club members are invited to showcase their talents through individual, duet, or group performances. Acts may include skits, dancing, singing, playing instruments, and more—unique and creative performances are encouraged!

Important Registration Information
-- A registration form must be submitted for each act
-- Forms must be completed by a club leader or adult volunteer act coordinator
-- The registration form, rules, judges’ score sheet, and event flyer are available on the County 4-H website

Build, Bake & Beyond is a fun, hands-on (2nd Monday, monthly) 4-H workshop where youth ages 8–18 can explore new skills, get creative, and take home what they make! Each session features a different theme — from crafting and cooking to building and designing — all while learning teamwork, confidence, and creativity. It’s free to join and open to all youth, including Cloverbuds!

This month's theme was “Holiday Merry Makers"! Youth dove into festive creativity with a fun lineup of holiday-themed projects including creating a wood-burning holiday piece, decorating sugar cookies, making peppermint pop bath bombs, decorating a potpourri shaker and crafting cute light up snowman ornaments.

Next Build, Bake & Beyond:

Kick off the new year with “New Year, New Creations!” featuring goal setting, STEM challenges, fresh projects, and more.

An AAC 4-H Tradition! The annual 4-H Turkey Shoot is scheduled to occur on Saturday, Nov 15, 2025, 9am at the Meyer Station Nature Center. This is a free event for all ages, 4-H and non 4-H, youth and adult, with special activities available for youth aged 5-7. Contestants may choose archery or riflery and you shoot at paper targets. You may bring but do not need your own equipment. (see flyer). Breakfast and Lunch refreshments will be available for sale. The Anne Arundel County 4-H Foundation sponsors cash prizes to top-scoring contestants. No RSVP required. Reach out to [email protected] for more information.
