Edgely Fire Company (Ten House) Open House
A little more than 12 months ago the Croydon Fire Company sold all three of its fire chief/command vehicles. The vehicles were determined to be inadequate for the current of calls for service we were experiencing. Our Chief officers have sacrificed their personal vehicles for the year while we constructed a proper plan for new vehicles. This past week we took delivery of the first of four replacement vehicle. There will be threee Chiefs/Command Ford F250 pickups and a replacement for our field truck will be an Ford F350 Pickup with a skid mount pump. For the purposes of transparency to our community we want you to know that the three Chiefs vehicles were paid for entirely with the proceeds from the sales of the previous vehicles and grant money. You read that correctly, these cost the fire company zero additional funds. Upfitting included the costs were covered. We take very seriously the financial burden the fire taxes can take on our community members and we budget our purchases with that in mind. Some may ask why large Ford F250 pickups would be necessary? Simply stated, the durability of these trucks have, and the ground clearance they provide, allow us to respond to, and in, adverse weather conditions such as the flooding the likes we have never seen in the Croydon and Bristol Township areas. While this is just a quick explanation of the vehicles you will be seeing in the near future, we promise to give a more expansive explanation once all of our vehicles are in service. Keep an eye on our page for future updates.

Early yesterday afternoon Croydon Volunteers joined with multiple agencies across Lower Bucks County to assist Falls Township Fire Company #1 at a rubbish fire in a scrap yard. Firefighters worked tirelessly in the heat and humidity for hours to contain, control and extinguish this blaze. Daytime calls like this are always stressful due to lower staff availability. Command from Station 30 did a phenomenal job and should be applauded.
