Title: The Little Black Book

Author: James Patterson & David Ellis

Plot: Meet Billy Harney. The son of Chicago's chief of detectives, he was born to be a cop. There's nothing he wouldn't sacrifice for his job. Enter Amy Lentini, an assistant state's attorney hell-bent on making a name for herself - by proving Billy isn't the cop he claims to be.

Review: James Patterson is probably one of my favorite authors. He really outdid himself with this novel. There is a lot of back forth between past and present so you have to make sure that you are paying attention and don't blink too long (LOL). This really goes in depth of being a dirty cop, how they've become dirty cops, and who actually is a dirty cop. There are a lot of twists and turns between all of the main characters in the book. Just when you think you have figured one thing out.....BOOM you are hit with something else. This book is a very easy and quick read, which I highly recommend everyone take the time to read!

I give this book a 9/10....and I would read it all over again!

A horrifying murder leads investigators to a brothel that caters to Chicago's most powerful citizens. There's pleny of evidence on the scene, but what matters most is what's missing: the madam's black book.

Title: The Other Daughter

Author: Lisa Gardner

Melanie has no memory of her life before the adoption. Now someone wants to give it back, even if it includes the darkest nightmare the Stokes family ever faced: the murder of their first daughter in Texas. As Melanie pursues every lead, chases every shadow in search of her real identity, two seemingly unrelated events from her past will come together in a dangerous explosion of truth.

Review: Let's start with this......HOLY CRAP! This book grabbed just after reading the first couple of sentences. There is quite a bit of back and forth with the timeline of how the novel plays out an if you blink you are going to miss something very important. The ending of the book is going to BLOW your mind. You have no idea what's coming at any turn in this book. It keeps you on your toes and I promise you will not want to put this down until you have finished every page.

I give this book a 9/10

Title: Sweet Magnolias

Plot: Lifelong friends lift each other up as they juggle relationships, family and careers in the small Southern town of Serenity.

Review: At first, I didn't think I was going to enjoy this show watching the very first episode of season 1. I was highly wrong and even more highly surprised at how much I loved the show. There is drama, love, life experiences, etc. I won't lie this is a total chick show, but I would HIGHLY recommend clearing your weekend and watching the 2 seasons that are available on Netflix. I cannot wait until the 3rd season drops! And you better believe that when season 3 hits I am going to start it all over from the beginning at season 1 because it is that good!

Rating: I give this show an 8/10

I was really looking forward to watching this because the previews were so good. Well, that was about the only thing that was good. I watched the entire season 1 in a weekend and was so disappointed in the show. The first episode really grabbed me, but after that I found myself losing interest very quickly.

I would give this series a 4 out of 10.

I'm curious to know what you thought about this series if you have watched it already?

Review: This was an excellent read! After the first half of chapter 1, I was absolutely hooked. It took me less than a day to get through this book. I couldn’t put it down except to run to the bathroom. I highly recommend you read this book, and if the series is as good you might as well buy the series instead of just the first book.

I give this book an 8/10

Title: The Haunted

Author: Bentley Little

Plot: The Perry family's new house is perfect - except for the weird behavior of the neighbors, and that odd smell coming from a dark corner in the basement. Pity no one warned the family about the house. Now it's too late. Because the darkness at the bottom of the basement stairs is rising.

Review: Now, this is not normally my type of book. I am super into thrillers and FBI like books, but this book was too good to put down. It took me only a day and a half to read it. It’s sexy, spooky, and mind grabbing. This is one I am kind of keeping my fingers crossed that they make a movie out of this book because it will be super scary. There is a lot of back and forth between characters, so you want to make sure you are paying attention while reading this.

I give this book a 7/10

Title: The Marriage

Plot: Ten years ago, he killed my son. Today I married him.
Ten years ago, my darling son Jesse was murdered, and our perfect family was destroyed. My strong, handsome boy, so full of life, became a memory, a photo I carried with me everywhere.
But today I’m finally close to finding happiness again. My ash-blonde hair has been curled into ringlets. Carefully placed white flowers frame my delicate features. The small, drab chapel has been prettied up with white satin, and there are tiny red hearts scattered on the small table where I will soon sign the register with my new husband.
The man who killed my son.
My friends and family can’t understand it. My neighbors whisper in the street whenever I walk past. How can I love a man like Tom?
They don’t really know me at all....
Review: This book was AMAZING! It took me about 2 chapters to really get into it, but once you are past those 2 chapters, you are hook, line, and sinkered! It took me about a day to get through and I was sad when it ended, I definitely recommend you read/listen to it!

Title: A Perfect Stranger

Author: Shalini Boland

Plot: Annie comes home from a market trip with her young son, George, only to make a gruesome discovery. Could the perpetrator be the new lodger she and her husband, David, just rented their spare bedroom to?
Emily dreams of one day owning a house where her son, Josh, and the little one on the way can grow up, but when her husband, Aidan, insists on leaving his lucrative job as a luxury car salesman, she senses something more is afoot - even while she harbors a secret of her own. What is Aidan hiding, and will it jeopardize their young family’s future?
Meanwhile, Aidan’s boss, Marcus, finds himself caught between placating his wife Dani’s all-consuming desire to get pregnant and managing the less than savory group of associates now helping to run his car dealership. How far is Marcus willing to go to prove his love for Dani? Or will his business come first?
Review: This book was extremely hard to get into. It was my second book I listened to on Audible and I had to stop about halfway through because it lost my interest. I wasn’t a fan of the plot or the characters at all. This isn’t one that I recommend unless you have 3 days to read the book in it’s entirety.

Comments: Have you read/listened to this book? I would love your opinions!

Title: The Coldest Case

Plot: The Coldest Case follows the siblings as they investigate a Chicago drug ring, which is attempting to retrieve a "black book," an incriminating ledger that's gone missing. As Billy gets deeper into the investigation, he's pulled into a dangerous network of corruption, vengeful billionaires, and dark web conspiracies.

Review: This is the first book on Audible which I purchased today, and it was perfect for my 4-hour drive home. Let me tell you how different it is hearing narrators tell the story. This book is definitely gripping. And by that, I mean you will not be able to put it down. Talk about a psychological thriller. There aren’t that many twists in the book it’s pretty straight forward which I actually enjoy sometimes. It is only available on Audible, but wow oh wow was this one good!

Comments: If you have read this book before I would love to hear your opinions on it!

This gets a 6/10 for me!

Author: James Patterson & Peter De Jonge

Plot: Jack Mullen is a driven student of the law. His brother Peter is a servant of the rich, parking the cards of the Hamptons’ elite, and perhaps satisfying their more intimate needs as well. Then Peter’s body is found on the beach. Jack knows the drowning was no accident, but someone’s unlimited power and money have bought the cops, the judges, and the system. Now jack is learning a lesson in justice he never got in law school and his astonishing plan to beat the billionairess will have you reeling and cheering to the very last page.

Review: I will say that this is probably one of my favorites by James Patterson. The twists and turns are insane, but you never lose sight of what you are reading and what it is about. Jack Mullen is my favorite character out of the entire book, and when you read it, you will understand why. This book grips you from the first page to the last page. I literally read the entire book in a day because I couldn’t put it down it was that good. We all know that James Patterson is an exceptional writer, but I feel like he outdid himself with this book.

Comments: If you have read this book, I would love to get your opinion on what you thought!

This gets an 8/10 for me
