The MCTC LVC library is again hosting a Santa's Workshop event for students with families.
Many students particpating are "non-traditional" college students, having children of all ages.
You all helped me so much last year making this event a huge success.
If you would like to help again this year, donations of new toys, board games, kids books, puzzles, bath sets, blankets, wallets, foot/soccer/basket balls, etc. can be dropped off at the LVC campus across from the high school.

You still have time to get up to LVC campus where Welcome Back Week Activities for students are happening until 1:00.
Lots of info, give aways, drawings and activities happening on the main floor.
Then come visit me in the library on the lower level to have your ID made, register to win a Bluetooth speaker, grab some free-bees, and an event can't be complete without popcorn and m&ms...e

Thursday, August 21, will be my last day at the MCTC Licking Valley Campus library. I have loved the year I spent there and look forward to seeing and supporting all the upcoming changes.
Because this page is not approved or ran by MCTC, or the LVC library, but rather a rogue librarian, I will be shutting it down at the end of Thursday.
I'd like to thank everyone for their support, and helping me grow the library during this past year.

I am the librarian at the MCTC Licking Valley Campus here in Cynthiana.
This library is open and accessible to the community. You don't have to be a student. This includes activities and events (unless marked student exclusive) in addition to utilization of library resources, including books, search engines, computers/printer, study space, small meeting space, and other.
We have recently started a "Book Exchange" program. If you want a book on these designated shelves, take it. You may keep it, return it, or pass along to a friend. If you have a book taking up space, I'll gladly add it to the Exchange shelves.
As of now, these are all books for late teen and adult readers.
I am starting the process of the same for infant thru young teen readers.
As you begin spring cleaning, if you have any books in good condition that you're considering donating, please keep us in mind. I'm accepting all books for all ages.
I am also accepting games (with all pieces) for all ages, as well as puzzles and craft supplies. Donations may be brought to the LVC campus, marked for Paula Rainwater...or I'm happy to arrange donations to be picked up on Mondays and Fridays.
Be watching for regular events for preschoolers, school aged after school events, evening activities for families, and random programs for adults and seniors.
If you have any ideas of what you'd utilize, I'd love to hear it!!
Library hours are Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 8:00-4:30 (closed from 1:00-2:00) unless temporary change posted.

Avid reading friends, I need your help...
I am planning a Blind Date with a Book event for the MCTC-LVC library the second week of February for Valentines Day.
If you would like to help, please recommend a title, and write a "personal ad" from the book's perspective to create a "pick me" message to the prospective reader. Below is an example of one way to do this, though doesn't have to be this format. If you happen to have the book, and are ready to pass it along, I'll happily accept - but absolutely not required!

Books will be wrapped to keep the title a secret. The ad will be printed out and attached to the book, along with a bookmark, and possibly other items (hi-lighters, pen, post-its, etc., depending on book), then arranged in the library for students to select.
