They are getting back out and they need to have a firm foundation to rebuild their lives. They don't get that from the prisons! The Faith Based programs in the state of Texas produce strong faithful Christians who reenter society and have less than a 3% reentry rate with 3 years of release, compared to over 50% for most ex-convicts. Cypress Fellowship of Cypress, Texas November 6, 2011. I have been working within the Texas Criminal Justice System to become a certified volunteer chaplain's assistant. I have attended one year at South Houston Bible Institute and am currently attending Tyndale Theological Seminary to earn my Bachelor's Degree in Bible and Theology with a minor in Christian Education. I love God with all of my heart. I was saved in the Navy Brig in 1979. I started out spending much of my early teen years in juvenile detention before joining the Navy in 1977. I thank God for getting a hold onto my life and changing me for the better. God has allowed me to pass through many trials and He has taught me how to overcome adversity through the power of His Holy Spirit. I come into the prisons to teach these same things to everyone who needs it.
