The Mississippi Police Benevolent Association and the Police Benevolent Foundation recently set up a recovery fund for Officer Clint Tew, who works for the Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Office as a school resource officer.

On July 4, 2022, Officer Tew suffered a severe injury in an off-duty accident resulting in ankle displacement with an ankle to lower tibia break. One surgery has been completed and successful with the external fixation. Additional surgery was conducted to put in a plate and pin the bone and ankle.

His doctors have told him that his recovery process will be lengthy, with multiple therapy appointments before he can return to duty.

Officer Tew has been married for 17 years to Lyndsey and they have four children -- Simeon Cruz Tew, who will turn 14 this October, daughter Bellamy June Tew, who turned 8 in February, and twin sons Silas Leon Tew and Levi Clinton Tew, who turned 7 this July.

One hundred percent of the money received by the PBF will go to help with Officer Tew’s medical expenses, and salary replacement if his leave time is exhausted during his recovery.

Here, Mississippi Division President Andy "SKI" Matuszewski presents a check to Officer Tew.
