A megalithic monument in Spain that's older than the Pyramids was recently uncovered from its watery hiding place by a drought. The "Spanish Stonehenge" is about 7,000 years old, some 2,000 years older than Stonehenge itself!

Hey, ever wondered how much it will cost you to use a mobile notary in Texas?
If so, here you go!

Pricing regulations for Texas mobile notaries are outlined in the Texas Government Code (Section 406.024). These regulations establish the maximum fees that a notary public may charge for their services.

Here is a summary of the maximum fees that a Texas mobile notary may charge:

Acknowledgment or proof: $6.00 for the first signature and $1.00 for each additional signature.
Administering an oath or affirmation, with certificate and seal: $6.00
Providing a copy of a record or paper kept in the Notary's office: 50 cents per page.
Taking a deposition: $6.00 for the oath, certificate, seal and other business connected with the deposition, plus 50 cents per 100 words.
Protesting for nonacceptance or nonpayment, register and seal: $4.00; each notice of protest, $1.00; certificate and seal to a protest, $4.00; protesting in all other cases, $4.00.
Certificate under seal not otherwise provided for: $6.00
Performing any other lawful notarial act: $6.00
These fees are the maximum fees that a notary may charge. Notaries may charge less than the maximum fees, but they may not charge more.

In addition to the maximum fees, mobile notaries may also charge a travel fee. The travel fee is not regulated by the state and is up to the individual notary to determine.

Mobile notaries are also required to post their fees for the public. This means that they must have a fee schedule posted in their office or on their website. They must also provide a written itemized invoice to their clients for their services.

Please note that these regulations are subject to change. It is always best to check with the Texas Secretary of State for the most up-to-date information.

Every heard of a Remote Online Notary (RON)?

I am a State of Texas approved RON and use Notarize.com as my RON Vendor.

A remote online notary (RON) is a notary public who can notarize documents electronically through the use of two-way audio-video technology. This means that you can have a document notarized without having to travel to a traditional notary office.

There are many reasons why you might choose to use a remote online notary. Some of the most common benefits include:

Convenience: You can have your documents notarized from anywhere in the world, as long as you have an internet connection.
Flexibility: Remote online notaries are available to meet with you at your convenience, including evenings and weekends.
Affordability: Remote online notary services are often more affordable than traditional notary services.
Accessibility: Remote online notary services are a great option for people who have difficulty traveling or who are unable to leave their home.
Safety: Remote online notary services are a safe and secure way to have your documents notarized.
To use a remote online notary, you will typically need to upload your documents to the notary's website and then schedule a video conference with the notary. During the video conference, the notary will verify your identity and witness your signature on the document. Once the document is notarized, the notary will return it to you electronically.

Here are some of the types of documents that can be notarized remotely:

Affidavits
Acknowledgments
Jurats
Deeds
Trusts
Wills
If you need to have a document notarized, I recommend using a remote online notary. It is a convenient, flexible, affordable, accessible, and safe way to get your documents notarized.

In case you're wondering...Why would anyone need a mobile notary?

There are many reasons why someone might hire a mobile notary. Here are a few of the most common:

Convenience: Mobile notaries come to you, so you don't have to take time out of your day to travel to a notary's office. This is especially convenient for busy people or people with mobility issues.
Flexibility: Mobile notaries are often available to meet with you on your schedule, including evenings and weekends. This makes it easy to get your documents notarized even if you have a busy schedule.
Expertise: Mobile notaries are familiar with a wide range of documents and the specific requirements for notarizing them. They can answer any questions you have about the notarization process and ensure that your documents are properly executed.
Security: Mobile notaries are bonded and insured, so you can be confident that your documents are safe and secure.
Here are some specific examples of situations where someone might hire a mobile notary:

A business owner needs to have a contract notarized, but they don't have time to leave their office.
A senior citizen needs to sign a power of attorney, but they are unable to travel to a notary's office.
A couple is getting married and needs to have their marriage license notarized.
A family is buying a home and needs to sign the closing documents.
A person is traveling for business and needs to have a document notarized while they are away.
If you need to have a document notarized, hiring a mobile notary is a convenient and secure option.

Did I mention that I'm a commissioned Notary Signing Agent too? And what does this really mean?

A notary signing agent (NSA) is a notary public who is specially trained and certified to handle loan closings. NSAs are hired by lenders and title companies to meet with borrowers and notarize their signatures on loan documents. NSAs must be familiar with a wide range of loan documents and the specific requirements for notarizing them. They must also be able to explain the documents to borrowers and answer any questions they may have.

NSAs play an important role in the real estate transaction process. They help to ensure that all of the loan documents are properly executed and notarized, which is essential for the loan to be closed and funded.

Here are some of the specific tasks that an NSA may perform:

Meet with borrowers to review and sign loan closing documents
Verify the identity of the borrowers
Witnessed the borrowers' signatures on the loan documents
Notarize the borrowers' signatures
Return the signed and notarized documents to the lender or title company
NSAs are typically independent contractors, and they may work for more than one lender or title company. They may also offer other notary services, such as notarizing power of attorney documents, deeds, and wills.

If you are buying or selling a home, you will likely need to work with a notary signing agent at some point in the process. NSAs can help to make the closing process go smoothly and efficiently.
