Our Tales and Trees series returns this fall! 📗🌳 During each of these monthly programs at Westchester Park (3999 Churchill Dr.), learn about the environment with nature-inspired stories and hands-on activities. The September meeting is in one week on Saturday, Sept. 5.

Join us from 2-3 p.m. to learn all about our Friends with Feathers! 🐦 Learn how birds build their homes in our ecosystem and practice your own nest construction skills.

This program is for children of all ages and their caregivers. Some activities may be messy, so we recommend you dress accordingly. Registration is not required.

Get together with other adults for a friendly game of American Mah Jongg at the Flower Mound Public Library (3030 Broadmoor Ln.). 🀄 During this meetup on Wednesday, Sept. 2, from 12-3 p.m., players of all skill levels are welcome. Players are encouraged to bring their own set as the Library has a limited amount to borrow. Registration is not required.

Today might be for pumpkin spice but tomorrow is for the dogs! 🐶 Wednesday, Aug. 26, is National Dog Day! In celebration, our Holds Drive-Thru Window will be stocked with treats for your furry friend. Here’s how the window works:

📗 Place an item on hold by logging into your Library account at flowermound.aspendiscovery.org/MyAccount/Home.

📙 Receive an email notification from us that the item is ready.

📘 Drive to the Holds Window, push the bell, and a staff member will be with you shortly with your item and a treat for your pup.

Heads up! Our Creation Lab will close in just over a week for some renovations. Funded in part by donations from the The Friends of the Flower Mound Public Library, the project will expand the size of the Creation Lab and add some new machines, including a sublimation printer. While work is underway, the Creation Lab will be closed from Monday, Aug. 31, through Monday, Sept. 14. We apologize for any inconvenience.
