Our family has again been issued a great loss. Johnny Jones of the Constable's Office Pct.4 and formerly of the Sheriff's Department went home to be with the Lord on Friday, October 18th. Please keep the family in your prayers.

Our beloved brother and long time member, Ingar Singleton, will be funeralized on Saturday, October 26,2013 in Natchez Miss.
Viewing and Wake will be at the Golden Gate Funeral Home on Wednesday October 23rd. Viewing 3pm - 7 pm. Wake at 7:15pm
Bateaste Memorial Funeral Home 329 Lower Woodville Rd. Natchez, Ms 39120, will be in charge of final rites. Please keep the family in your prayers.

The Election Committee is accepting nominations and Letters of Interest for all positions on the DCPOA Board. If you are interested in serving on the Board submit your letter by mail or deliver to DCPOA Headquarters 1409 S. Lamar Suite 449 by the close of business November 20, 2013. Submit your name, address, email address, contact number, current assignment and the position you are interested in. Don't delay !!!! Members, information given to the Commissioners during court today...the 2014 Budget would not support returning our step-raises, but the re-implementation of our step-raises will be revisited for the 2015 Budget. Your board members will continue meeting with the members of the court for a raise in 2014.

Attention DCPOA members: On Friday, July 26, 2013, you were represented at the Civil Service hearing regarding the Sheriff's Department General Orders/Code of Conduct Matrix and Dallas County hiring changes. Senior Sergeant Sefton Burke and Senior Sergeant Shawna Turner spoke on your behalf. Lending our Voice for the Equal Protection of all Employees.

Deputy Willie Faye Washington has announced her intentions to retire from the Sheriff's Department after 20 years. Deputy Washington has been a fixture in the Intake Division for many years
and has served in many capacities. A retirement reception will be held on July 25th from 10:30am - 1:00pm. Enjoy your well deserved retirement !

Miami-Dade County sends out pink slips to 300 workers !
The county has proposed an 8 percent pay cuts for workers, but has allowed various unions to craft their own proposals for achieving cost savings. GSAF had presented a plan calling for employees to, among other things, give back their recent 3 percent raises and to take 11 furlough days in lieu of outright pay cuts.
