My Friends,

Once again Barry Wernick continues his slash-and-burn campaign. When I thought I had seen it all from his dishonest campaign, nothing prepared me for his most recent mailer and social media post.

Barry weaponized my sense of social responsibility and pointed it directly at our Jewish community.

With the increase in anti-Semitism across the country, Barry has decided his only path to victory is to feed the beast of hatred. It’s irresponsible at best and dangerous for all of us. If a non-Jew sent this mailer, the entire community would be on high alert. To have it come from a fellow Jew is disgraceful and puts us all at risk.

I implore you to read the article I posted on June 24th, 2020. The author, Matt Fieldman, is a fellow at the Civil Society Fellowship, a partnership of the ADL and the Aspen Institute. Mr. Fieldman wrote a call to action to the Jewish community to be a part of the solution toward racial equality.

You can read for yourself what he wrote.
https://ejewishphilanthropy.com/white-jews-wake-up-were-part-of-the-problem/?fbclid=IwAR2-1MR9ieOIH0GGI9SpEEsCs4ljxsc_1uWQOFdB5Fb_y8PNnrW_NuRG4kM

And here are some excerpts:

“I’m writing this to call us out; out of love and brotherhood, I want white American-born Jews like myself to step up for racial justice. I want us to evolve the way we talk about race with our children.

"Friends, we have done an amazing job of living the Jewish value, “Kol yisrael arevim zeh la’zeh” (all Jews are responsible one for the other). It has served us well to this point, but it’s time to move on. It’s time to stand with the Black community in dismantling unjust systems. It’s time to recognize, in the words of the African-American poet Gwendolyn Brooks, “We are each other’s harvest; we are each other’s business; we are each other’s magnitude and bond.”

Evidently, for Barry, any community love-based call to action equates to burning down cities.

But never fear, for every time Barry unleashes his false, hate-filled attacks it motivates me to work harder. And I trust voters will see these attacks for what they are. A desperate attempt to win- no matter the costs to our community.

To defeat hate, we must win the ballot box. Please be sure to vote and take a friend or two with you.

-Jaynie

On this Memorial Day, we remember and honor the brave soldiers who have died protecting our country. We are blessed to live in this country, and it is because of the sacrifice of brave people that we enjoy such freedoms. Today we remember and honor their lives.

Please join me, wherever you are, in observing the National Moment of Remembrance at 3 p.m. This moment was established in 2000 as a way for Americans to unite as one to honor those who sacrificed their lives for our country.

Max Glauben Endorsement

ENDORSEMENT ALERT: Max Glauben - Holocaust Survivor, Korean War Veteran, Community Activist, Upstander

This endorsement is one of the most meaningful and important statements of support I’ve received. Max Glauben is a pillar in our community and in the world. He has known me and my family for decades and has always been a beacon of goodness and strength in my life. He led all of my children and my husband on trips to Poland and Israel for the March of the Living, where they bore witness to the horrors of the Holocaust and the importance of speaking up for human rights. He knows what good, honest leadership is and I am honored and humbled by his endorsement.

Video transcript:
I am Max Glauben and I have known the Schultz family for over 50 years. The family was and still is a family of upstanders. People that always cared for the community and for the welfare of others, and donated philanthropically, and also, guarders of the truth. Therefore, i can strongly recommend Jaynie Schultz to be one of the people on the council of the city of Dallas.

Great news!

The Park Heritage project at Valley View (a major portion of the Midtown development, owned by Seritage Properties) has paid for their share of the sewer line and has all the permits they need to move forward! They plan to begin construction by the end of the year.

I don’t know why Barry Wernick continues to claim that I, while serving on the Plan Commission, had any say over a sewer line. Either he is ignorant or is lying. That is not the kind of leadership we need in City Council.

✅Fact: Developer Beck Ventures is delaying the Valley View project. Due in part to incompetence and incomplete demolition of the mall, they incurred $400,000 in health and safety code violations and squandered $37.5 million in city economic support.

✅Fact: Other developers in the area are moving forward, paying for their own sewer lines without any complaints.

With no major development experience, it’s clear Beck Ventures is determined to delay the project. They cannot continue to delay without a “friend” on the Council – Barry Wernick.

✅Fact: The Beck family hosted a campaign fundraiser for Barry at their home and donated over $10,000. And the Becks own a bank that awarded Barry over $40,000 in federal PPP forgivable loans. The last one, right before Barry launched his campaign.

Jaynie Schultz(Dallas, TX)

Schultz began her business career in 1988 when she and her mother designed, built and operated Garrett Creek Ranch Conference Center in Paradise, Texas. In 2009 Jaynie created Retreat Central, an online directory and marketing firm for camp retreat centers. Retreat Central was sold in 2018.

Her service career began in 1988 when she joined the grants committee of the Dallas Women’s Foundation and later joined the Board of Trustees. Locally she also served on the Board of Directors of the Women’s Museum and in 2014 was appointed to the Dallas City Plan Commission (District 11) which she continues to serve.
