In order to combat child trafficking, you need to know what to look for, as well as what traffickers are looking for.

It's essential to recognize the warning signs. Traffickers typically target children who seem vulnerable or are seeking to escape challenging situations. They often prey on children who have experienced abuse, exploiting their past trauma. While this isn’t an exhaustive list, it outlines some key red flags you might encounter in everyday life.

Collin County Area Realtors (CCAR) has consecutively supported the mission of CACCC for 30 years as their key charitable initiative. Through members volunteering their time at the Center and collecting new clothing for the Rainbow Room and toys for the Holiday Project, CCAR has helped generate awareness for child abuse in our community for three decades.

Additionally, CCAR hosts an annual holiday breakfast for members, where all proceeds and donations benefit the children and families the Center serves. CCAR has also been a member of the Guardian Angel Society since 2020.

We are excited to recognize CCAR as the 2025 Gala Honorary Chair as they have beautifully demonstrated the power in partnership.

Contrary to popular belief, not all children who face CSEC are kidnapped. Many victims are trafficked from inside their own homes by members of their community. Victims of this type of trafficking have often had their situation normalized to them by the traffickers.

In a 2023 report, FXB Center for Health & Human Rights at Harvard University and the International Organization for Migration found that globally, over 50% of child trafficking victims were recruited by their family and friends.

Safety. Healing. Justice.

The mission of Children’s Advocacy Center of Collin County is to provide safety, healing, and justice to children victimized by abuse or neglect in our community. Achieving this requires multi-disciplinary team approach; under one roof, we house law enforcement, Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS), therapists, and family advocates. Additionally, we work with the District Attorney’s office to ensure that justice is served.

KEY FACTS:

•Each year, more than 5,000 reports of child abuse or neglect are made here in Collin County.

•For more than 25 years, we have provided critical services to children and non-offending family members victimized by neglect in our community, free of charge.
