We send our thoughts, prayers and condolences to our brothers and sisters at the Austin Police Department who mourn the loss of one of their officers who was tragically shot and killed in the line of duty this morning.

We were honored to be able to donate brand new socks and shoes to over 350 kids from Bowie Fine Arts Academy. Some of these kids received their very first pair of new shoes. The heart, soul, and goal of this program is to provide as many children as possible a sense of confidence and pride!

National Drug Take Back Day is this Saturday, October 28th!
The Medication Disposal Program in Grand Prairie gives residents a place to safely dispose of pharmaceuticals on an ongoing basis. You can bring prescription medications including narcotics (Oxycodone, Vicodin, etc.), medication samples, pet medications, medicated ointments/lotions, over-the-counter medications, vitamins, inhalers and unopened EpiPens to the Grand Prairie Police Department for disposal.
The medication disposal box is located inside the Public Safety Building lobby at 1525 Arkansas Lane, Grand Prairie.

This is a free family friendly event that is open to the public.
If you have a show car, truck or motorcycle, you can enter the competition for $25.00. Registration will be on site. Bring candy to participate in Trunk or Treat.
All proceeds will be donated to Children First Counseling Center – a local non-profit organization dedicated to counseling families and children who have been victimized by crime.

On Saturday, we spent the morning Fishing with our Future!
The Annual Cops and Kids Fishing day is geared toward Grand Prairie kids aged 6-12 who would not have the opportunity otherwise to learn the sport of fishing.
Police officers used the occasion to mentor these children and have a fun day at the park catching fish while teaching environmental stewardship.

Thank you for joining our live news conference! Grand Prairie Police Officers Gray and Monroe welcome the reunion of a pet owner and her dog Riggins. The officers responded to an unattended vehicle and found Riggins unharmed! 🐾🚔 On Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at around 5:15 p.m., Grand Prairie Police Officers responded to a call for service involving an unattended vehicle at a private business in the 2900 block of Arkansas Lane. Upon arrival, officers located the running vehicle which also contained an unattended Golden Retriever. During their investigation, officers discovered the vehicle and Golden Retriever had been stolen from a restaurant parking lot in a neighboring city. Grand Prairie officers were able to locate the owner and arrange for her to be immediately reunited with her dog, Riggins, which was uninjured. The reunion between the owner and her dog was captured on the owner’s Instagram page: https://www.instagram.com/p/CT3JBSlFvqU/ The investigation into the stolen vehicle is being handled by the Fort Worth Police Department. The Grand Prairie Police Officers involved with reuniting the stolen dog and his owner, Officers Gray and Monroe, will be available for interviews at 1525 Arkansas Lane, Grand Prairie, on Thursday, September 16, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. They will be in the Community Room on the second floor.
