Do you notice that most tax prep appointments soon became therapy sessions?

Client walks in the office today and says, “I need some spiritual and financial advice.” My first thought was, they are getting a divorce. He put my fears to rest. We had a nice discussion. In the end he accepted my advice.

So, I’m sharing this sage advice with you. “If you want friends and if you want family, don’t go into business with either one.”

This how one Texas NATP board member got a new client. He was pulled over by a deputy sheriff for traveling 84 in a 75. The deputy ran his plates (TAX-DOC). Upon questioning, the deputy realized he needed the services of the TAX-DOC. They exchanged information. Result? New client. Warning ticket. That’s a win.

Texas NATP was in the house today with tax practitioners from South Texas at the IRS Regional Tax Practitioner meeting in Corpus Christi. Next meeting is coming up August 19 in The Woodlands and that is followed by Tyler on September 22.
