Here is a direct message from the founder of Toastmasters International, an organization which is now over 90 years old. I want you to understand, that so many things have changed about Toastmasters since then, especially the fact that Toastmasters is no longer only for the men. Yipee!! Oh, but we have come a long, long way since then.
As you can see from the write up below, Toastmasters is now a very much inclusive organization and it is constantly evolving and growing. I wonder what Mr. Smedley would say, were he here today.
Belonging to Toastmasters is something that you can be proud of, because you can achieve so much. You can climb your way up to the very top of the mountain if you want to, you can reach up and touch the sky. You can become a champion here at Toastmasters, setting goals and then finding that the tools to achieve them will be readily available to you. You can expect encouragement and guidance every step of the way,one evaluation at a time. Last, you can forever slay the dragons of fear and doubt from your mind, because you will learn that they really didn't have as much power as you thought and you will do all of this, one speech at a time.

was the founder of Toastmasters International, an international speaking organization with more than 313,000 members in 126 countries and more than individual 14,650 clubs.

Mondayâs meeting, the first of the year felt fresh. It was energetic, stimulating and brand new. Could it be that we were all well rested, or did we all come with some new yearâs resolution in mind? If indeed, you have ever made a commitment to better your speaking or social skills, then join us next Monday at 1830. It matters not if you made this commitment long ago, or on December 31st like so many of us. We would love to see you. We know that your initial energy may be tinged with fear, we understand because we have all been there. But imagine how much less fearful, how confident , how dynamic your energy could feel next new year when Trinity Toastmasters makes a similar post.
Hope to see you soon.

If you have ever been a Toastmaster before, you will know that Pathways is a new program. As with any change, there may be a learning curve, heck I still remember when my grandmother in England had to change her money denomination, from shillings and pence to the decimal system. Trust me, she wasnât too happy about it lol.
So what is Pathways anyway? Well here is a short video that may help to create a visual as well as an understanding, Each path, has the communication (speech) and leadership elements combined. It is also computer based not book based. I believe that, in time, we all will wonder how we ever did it any other way.
