Ywam Dallas & our parent organization, HIS Plan hosted their annual Christmas in the City celebration last week. While it may have looked a bit different, it was still tons of fun and served many Dallas families in need this holiday season!

HIS Plan co-hosted for the 10th year the YWAM Dallas Christmas party at The Church at Junius Heights. HIS Plan provided the food and helped provide clothing and Angel Gifts. Along with volunteers from The Church we had a great Christmas Event for the children at YWAM and the neighborhood.

Words cannot possibly express how incredibly proud we are to announce that our favorite Dreamer, author, speaker, mentor, rapper, husband, father, and friend, Juan A. Terrazas has officially graduated college with his Bachelor's degree in Communications!!! 🎓🎉👏🏻

Here are his uplifting thoughts on his long journey:
"I just turned in my final assignment for my Communication degree. I am 30 years old, and I am just now graduating with a 4-year degree. I used to feel ashamed for not obtaining a degree earlier like my other friends. However, I now know there is no shame in the obstacles I had to overcome to get to where I am today. We all have a race to run, and we are running at a different pace. I had to learn to stay in my lane and not let myself get distracted by another person's success. It doesn't matter how old you are—you have an opportunity to reach your dream if you keep focusing on what you are supposed to do. Don't waste your time comparing yourself to another person because that will prevent you from accomplishing your goals. If you decide to compare yourself to someone, compare yourself to the person you are called to be. My encouragement to you is to never give up because if you do, you will never know exactly what you were made for.

From the fields to the classroom: Inside the lives of U.S. agriculture’s youngest workers

The Aguilar sisters are migrant teen workers who support themselves & their family after their parents were deported back to Mexico. They are just 2 of the 400,000 - 500,000 seasonal migratory child laborers in the U.S.

The new Arizona Migrant Education Program from the Arizona Department of Education is working to get children out of the fields and into the classroom.

Thanks to the Today Show & Telemundo 39 for raising awareness of this eye-opening reality.

The Aguilar sisters work in the fields 40 hours a week. They’re also high school students, doing homework when they can. Many nights they go without sleep.

DREAMER HEROES ON THE FRONT LINES

Sen. Dick Durbin writes about Dr. Manuel Bernal, a DACA recipient on the frontline of the Covid-19 pandemic and says that Dreamers like Manuel have lived in immigration purgatory due to Congressional inability to summon the courage to solve this problem.

This weekend, Juan A. Terrazas attended the OneRace march in Atlanta, GA. Here are his thoughts:

"The OneRace march yesterday was a reminder of how diverse Heaven will be.

“After this I looked, and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands.” - Revelation 7:9

When one part of the body aches, the whole body is affected. I stand with the Black community. If they hurt, I hurt. If you have never experienced the sting of racism or its effects of the system, it will be difficult for you to understand. I ask that you listen and not dismiss the cry of so many. The present is affected by history. My hope and prayer is that the Church rises up to become the beacon of light and hope it was meant to be.
Take a look at your friend circle. Do you hang around people who mainly look like you, or do you have a diverse group of close friends? I hope we can become the Church Jesus prayed we'd be."

Happy birthday to this incredible man of God we have been privileged to work with. Blessings to you in your 30th year! We're excited to see all He's going to do through you.

Wise words from Juanton on turning 30:
"There was a time in my youth where I wondered if I would make it to be 18 years old. I used to be afraid I wouldn’t make it. I had a difficult youth, but not by choice. However, the choices and people I made helped me realize the value within me.
I was sharing with a friend once, and I brought up the question many of us want an answer to, “Why me? What was so special about me that the Lord would be gracious to me?” She simply replied, “It’s because you said yes to His call on your life.”
Today, I still say yes.
I’ve been hard-pressed, beat down, but not crushed or abandoned. I’ve tasted bad things in life and have learned how to handle things others couldn’t handle. I’ve wiped tears from my eyes. I wasn’t dismantled. Every trial that drew nigh, I was never alone in the battle. I am precious in His sight. I moved on beyond the past and let the Lord heal me. The Cross has the final word and not my adversary,
Today, I turned 30, and I look forward to seeing the Goodness of the Lord throughout my life."

“I would have lost heart unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the LORD In the land of the living.”
‭- ‭Psalms‬ ‭27:13‬ ‭NKJV‬

Happy Easter! Here's some Easter inspiration from Juan A. Terrazas:

"If I’m honest with you, I didn’t know Easter was about Jesus until I was 14 years old. I knew about the story of Jesus dying for us, but I didn’t know it was connected to Easter until I learned it from Dallas Metro.

The message of Christ’s coming to die for my sins changed my life. If God has the power to raise a man from the dead, He has the power to change your situation. Believe that He can change you too. He wants your heart.

“For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures,”

‭‭I Corinthians‬ ‭15:3-4‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
