Facilitate all companies in being good stewards of the community. Assist the community as a whole toward individual prosperity. Improve self determination of the people.
(1)
Encourage community stewardship in all commercial endeavors. Improve self determination of the community. We must strive together to make every negotiation, every conflict become win-win in an aggressive manner. We are our brother's and sister's keeper. Thank you very much for the support! I am still building all of the support info on facebook and websites. The vision behind this: we can't depend on government or the finance community to build our communities back up. It's time for us to work together on a grassroots level to correct our problems. First the basics, let's work on the Daily Big 3; (1) 3 squares (2) a job (3) and a roof. My efforts include more than exchanges of ideas on job searches and economics. I am working on an integrated program which includes business and job creation. The group that I have started is opening 4 businesses and 3 NGO's to do the work. The businesses include: (1) lawn service (2) municipal waste processor (3) Cajun restaurant (4) entertainment personality. The NGO's include: (1) Change of Dart (2) Community Stewardship Campaign (3) Community Development Group. The goal is: help many local people open successful businesses. I am partners with people that are involved with each of the first 4 businesses and 10% of the profits from each is going back in the community. The NGO's are involved with improving mass transit for those who need it most, consumer pressure for better corporate practices, and fundraising for local business capitalization. The plan is to lead through concentrated individual effort and networking. Your support means alot to me.

Can we revive America?
America died on Nov. 8, 2016, not with a bang or a whimper, but at its own hand via electoral suicide. We the people chose a man who has shredded our values, our morals, our compassion, our tolerance, our decency, our sense of common purpose, our very identity — all the things that, however tenuousl...

"One of the few scientists in the world who insists there is no link between climate change and human activity has been thoroughly busted for taking huge sums of money from oil giants:
"He has accepted more than $1.2 million in money from the fossil-fuel industry over the last decade while failing to disclose that conflict of interest in most of his scientific papers. At least 11 papers he has published since 2008 omitted such a disclosure, and in at least eight of those cases, he appears to have violated ethical guidelines of the journals that published his work."

Registering voters at Dallas gay pride with the Dallas County Democratic Party.
At one point, a group of young girls - grateful for out tent's shade - passed out hundreds of voter guides. Thanks kids!
We registered 26 voters while separately, the Wendy Davis Campaign and Battleground Texas registered voters as well.
Very hot, long day, but absolutely worth it.
The Dallas Morning News has endorsed Susan Motley for House District 105 in western Dallas County over the Republican incumbent, criticizing his votes to cut education funding and not to make badly needed use of the Rainy Day Fund.
"... Motley favors restoring education funding cuts and expanding Medicaid, positions similar to what business groups like the Dallas Citizens Council have advocated as ways to build a stronger economic future and reduce the burden of uncompensated health care. Anderson opposes both"
The Dallas County Coordinated Campaign is organizing block walks for candidates across the county, including Susan Motley. This is taking place every weekend between now and November 4th.
Along with several others, this is a WINNABLE RACE with an excellent candidate. Call the Dallas County Democratic Party today at 214.821.8331 to volunteer for weekend door knocking in HD 105 and across the county.
The hot weather is over. Another glorious North Texas October is nearly upon us, so there's no excuse not to come help out.
Texas needs YOU to come out and flip these districts to blue. It will make a real difference.
That number again: 214.821.8331. See you this Saturday!
Motley is an impressive candidate who seems to have a grasp of what Texas needs to be competitive and solve problems.

The Texas Democratic Party believes that we live in a land of opportunity as wide as our beautiful Texas skies. We love our great state, and we fight to win elections to protect Texas values.

If there's anyone who's hard to take seriously, it's the mendacious, crass, callous, right wing noise machine.

1 Local political subdivisions might not have a "first day" to file. However, under new law, most local entities now have a first day to file. Write-in deadlines for general and special elections also vary; the deadline for most local (city, school, other) general elections is now the same day as th…
BP's Recklessness Caused Gulf Oil Spill, Judge Rules
A U.S. judge has ruled that BP's recklessness caused 2010's massive Gulf oil spill, a move that could cost the company billions. Earlier this week Halliburton, the company in charge of sealing the completed Deepwater Horizon well that spewed millions...
I just saw this in the DMN. Folks, privatization of public services is about ONE THING and one thing only: giving rich people an opportunity to profit at the expense of the rest of US.
It adds a profit requirement to a service which heretofore had none. We're seeing this with schools, highways, and some even want to do it to Social Security.
Two things inevitably happen to bring about this profit: (1) the end cost to the public must rise, and (2) costs must be cut which inherently diminishes the quality of service.
We've been ripped off enough. This practice is utterly indefensible and must be fought against with all our might.
Though no votes were taken, council members offered broad support for a proposal to put a nonprofit group in charge of running the park.

"I'd say that contrary to what decades of political science research might lead you to believe, ordinary citizens have virtually no influence over what their government does in the United States."
A new political science study that's gone viral finds that majority-rule democracy exists only in theory in the United States -- not so much in practice. The government caters to the affluent few and organized interest groups, the researchers find, while the average citizen's influence on policy is…

"CNET linked Microsoft's decision with ALEC's bid to stop renewable energy projects. As The Guardian reported last year, Microsoft has begun investing in renewable energy, including an announcement that it would run one of its data centers entirely with electricity produced by a wind farm in Texas."
Microsoft said on Tuesday that it will end its involvement with the American Legislative Exchange Council, the conservative advocacy group, reportedly because of the group's lobbying against renewable energy. CNET reported that Microsoft would cease being a member of ALEC's communications and techno…

Inside the festival hall yesterday during Eid. We made some key connections with Muslim activists and allies. This community votes 90% Democratic, but with only 20-30% participation.
We're gonna improve on that.
More of the congregants heading into Eid al-fitr at Fair Park's Centennial Hall. How lovely are the colorful burkas against the incredibly green July grass.
Voter registration early setup at Eid Prayer today in Fair Park. Also congregants heading into Centennial Hall for the first prayer. Can you say beautiful?

Take Texas Back From ALEC!
ALEC skirts the law restricting lobbying activities and gifts to politicians, and pushes its ideologically driven agenda through model bills that put corporate profits and the right-wing agenda before the needs of working people. What are just some of the laws that ALEC and Laubenberg have promoted,…
