Happy Easter from all of us at the Collin County Sheriff's Office! 🐣🌷

As you gather with family and friends this weekend, we’re wishing y’all a joyful and safe holiday. Looks like we’ve got some April showers in the forecast, so whether you're hunting eggs, heading to church, or sitting down for a big family meal, here are a few tips to keep your Easter weekend worry-free:

Keep an eye on the little ones during outdoor activities, especially near roads, puddles, or water.

If you’re traveling, lock up your home and leave a light on to make it look lived-in.

Don’t leave valuables in plain sight inside your vehicle—those chocolate bunnies aren’t the only thing folks might be tempted by.

Planning to enjoy a few adult beverages? Make sure you’ve got a safe ride home. No bunny needs a DWI!

Stay safe, stay dry, and have a blessed Easter weekend! 💛🐰

This is a must-read. Keep in mind that no authentic law enforcement agency or county office will call you demanding money or threatening arrest over the phone. They would never instruct you to visit an ATM to withdraw money to send to them.

If you get such a call, hang up right away.

We encourage all residents of Collin County to stay alert and spread this information to help others avoid becoming victims of these scams.

Consumer losses in bitcoin ATM scams skyrocketed nearly tenfold to $114 million annually between 2020 to 2023, according to data from the Federal Trade Commission.

Yesterday, Sheriff Skinner had the honor of swearing in two of our newest deputies who recently completed the Basic Peace Officer Academy. Please join us in congratulating Deputy Sheriff Terdema Ussery and Deputy Sheriff Jason Franklin! 🎉

We’re proud to welcome these two to the Collin County Sheriff’s Office family. Best of luck as you begin your Field Training — we know y’all are ready to hit the ground running! Stay safe out there and thank you for answering the call to serve. 👏

Our amazing dispatch team got a delicious surprise this week. Lunch from Raising Cane’s, courtesy of our friends at RBFCU!

As part of National Telecommunicators Week, RBFCU honored the voices behind the scenes who keep our deputies and community safe 24/7. We can’t thank our dispatchers enough for the calm, strength, and dedication they bring to every call.

Big thanks to for helping us celebrate these everyday heroes in the best way possible—fried chicken and good vibes!

It’s National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week, and y’all know we couldn’t let it pass without showing some love to the real MVPs behind the scenes, our dispatchers! 💛

To celebrate ‘em, we hopped on the social media trend and created our very own AI Dispatcher Dolls, inspired by the real superheroes in our Comm Center. They come equipped with the essentials: headsets, energy drinks, monitors, radios, and a whole lotta patience.

Truth is, these heroes don’t wear capes - they wear headsets, and they’ve got hearts bigger than Texas. It takes someone truly special to do what they do.

From all of us here at the Collin County Sheriff’s Office: THANK YOU to our dispatchers. You are the voice in the darkness, the steady hand in the storm, and the lifeline for our deputies and community alike.

You’re more appreciated than we could ever say. 💙

🚨 SCAM ALERT – HELP US IDENTIFY THESE VICTIMS 🚨

The Collin County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating two separate cases involving Bitcoin scams where individuals were tricked into depositing money into cryptocurrency machines by suspects impersonating law enforcement.

These victims are not in trouble – they are victims of a crime, and we need your help to identify and reach them.

🔹 March 26, 2025 – Bitcoin machine at 1411 E University Dr, Prosper, TX

🔹 April 6, 2025 – Bitcoin machine at 826 Legacy Dr, Plano, TX

We have surveillance images of both individuals at the machines, but we do not know who they are. They may not realize they’ve been scammed, or they may be too embarrassed to report it. Either way, we want to help them and prevent further loss.

If you recognize either of these individuals or have any information, please contact our Investigator at [email protected] or call 972-547-5100.

Please share, even if you don’t know them personally, someone you know might.

💭 And remember, no legitimate law enforcement agency or county office will ever call and demand money or threaten arrest over the phone. If you receive such a call, hang up immediately.

Behind every emergency response, there's a calm and steady voice making sure help gets where it needs to go.

This week, we’re tipping our hats to our 911 dispatchers and all public safety telecommunicators during National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week! These heroes work behind the scenes 24/7, guiding callers through some of the scariest moments of their lives, offering calm, comfort, and critical coordination to get help on the way.

They may not wear a badge or a uniform, but their work is just as vital to keeping Collin County safe. So, if you know a dispatcher, take a moment to thank them. And to our own team of incredible telecommunicators here at the Collin County Sheriff’s Office: we see you, we appreciate you, and we couldn't do it without you!

We had an absolute blast at the Celina Touch A Truck event today at Old Celina Park! Big thanks to MADD for joining us and helping spread awareness about the dangers of drunk driving.

It was great to see so many families out enjoying the trucks, construction rigs, emergency vehicles, bounce houses, and of course, dancing to the DJ! Always a good time when the community comes together.

Thanks for having us, Celina. We’re already looking forward to the next one! Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD)

We’re heartbroken to share the news of the passing of Deputy Melissa Pollard, who tragically lost her life in a wreck at FM 14 and State Highway 37-S in Wood County.

Deputy Pollard once served proudly with the Collin County Sheriff’s Office before continuing her calling in Wood County. Her dedication to protecting and serving others was evident in every badge she wore, and she’ll always be part of our law enforcement family.

Our hearts go out to her loved ones, friends, and the entire Wood County Sheriff’s Office. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers as we all mourn the loss of a true public servant.
