Sometimes the days get so hectic that we forget to embrace the small pockets of joy.

A slow morning with my happy juice, aka coffee, a warm cinnamon roll, and a few quiet minutes to sit with my thoughts and people watch before I connect with anybody is something I choose on purpose. It is literally the little things that give us a good start to our day and that we appreciate most.

What do they say? You can't pour from an empty cup! So before I head out to help others find one of the most expensive joys 🏡🔑 they'll ever pay for, I fill mine this way at least once a week.

🥂 Cheers to gratitude for the little things and the simple pleasures, because as a Realtor who spends her days helping everybody else, I am learning to help me first.

Every room in the house eventually becomes somebody else's room. The living room belongs to the kids, the kitchen belongs to whoever is hungry, and the guest room belongs to your mama when she visits.

The primary suite is the last room in the house that is still yours. Choose it like it matters, because it does.

So which one are you claiming, 1, 2, or 3?

Mine is number 1. That sitting area sold me, and I would never leave.

Let me tell you why I push the "first asset" mindset so hard 👀

I lived it. My first home is a rental now, and it pays me every single month even though I don't live there anymore.

That's the part nobody teaches us. A first home isn't the finish line, it's the foundation. You live in it, you learn from it, and one day it works for you while you go get the next one.

You don't need the magazine house first. You need the first house.

From personal experience and a conversation with my buyers yesterday, she told me her first house taught her everything nobody warned her about what actually worked day to day, and what was just pretty.

It’s what I advise, don't let the aesthetics distract you, picture yourself there on a regular Tuesday, when the new-house smell wears off, when life is lifing and that mortgage is still due. does it still feel like home?
