A burn ban has not been issued for Moreno Valley's district at this time, but we are keeping a close eye on local conditions. During this time of high fire danger, please keep the following tips in mind to prevent starting and spreading fires:
- Avoid Outdoor Burning where possible. If grilling or using a fire pit, do so in a clear area away from dry vegetation, and fully extinguish flames when done. Never leave fire unattended.
- Properly Dispose of Ci******es: Always extinguish ci******es completely and dispose of them safely. Never flick butts from a vehicle window.
- Keep Vehicles off Dry Grass: Park on paved or gravel surfaces and avoid idling over dry vegetation.
- ยญTow Vehicles Safely: Dragging chains can cause sparks and lead to wildfires.
Stay Alert to Local Warnings and notices of Red Flag Warnings or a burn ban. If you see smoke or an unattended fire, report it immediately by calling 9-1-1.
