The 5th Marines were originally Adopted by The City of Dana Point in 2004. The Mission of the Dana Point 5th Marine Regiment Support Group is to provide Support & Outreach to our 5th Marine Wounded, Families of our Fallen, Marines and their Families. As our Outreach efforts gained momentum and our Organization became more formalized, we Incorporated under the Dana Point 5th Marine Regiment Support

Group, assembled a well qualified Board of Directors, and gained Tax Exempt status in late 2007 and early 2008. The Dana Point 5th Marine Regiment Support Group is a Tax-Exempt, Qualified 501(c)(3) Non-Profit Organization. Since becoming fully engaged and operational in January 2008, the Dana Point 5th Marine Regiment Support Group have sent well in excess of 3,500 Care Packages over to Regimental Combat Team 5 in Iraq, helped sponsor or arrange several Events for our Expectant Mothers, "Pamper Parties" for our Wives, Dana Point City Council Person, Lisa Bartlett and Dana Point City Manager Doug Chotkevys delivered numerous Truck Loads of Food Stuffs for our Families, and helped arrange emergency financial resources for our Troops, Spouses and Children who are legitimately in an emergency-distressed situation. During the Holidays we were fortunate enough to be of assistance to a number of Marines so that they might attend their Marine Corps Birthday Ball at a reasonable and minimal cost. During Thanksgiving and Christmas, Truck Loads of Food, Presents, a Lit Christmas Tree, and Poinsettias to our Families so they might fully enjoy the festive season while their loved were away. Most recently, we have hosted wonderful Thanksgiving and Christmas Dinners here in Dana Point and aboard the Base. The amount of Gift Cards and Presents made available to our Marines & Families is unparalleled. In terms of Execution relative to our Mission, word has it that we are one of the best at making use of the limited resources we have at our disposal while meeting the needs of our 5th Marines and their Families.

Honoring Juneteenth: Freedom, Service, and Sacrifice

Today, we commemorate Juneteenth, a day that marks the end of slavery in the United States and celebrates freedom, resilience, and the ongoing pursuit of equality for all Americans.
As we reflect on this important day in our nation's history, we also honor the countless African Americans who have answered the call to serve our country. This includes generations of Marines who have worn the Eagle, Globe, and Anchor with pride.
From the legendary Montford Point Marines to the diverse force that serves today, African American Marines have helped shape the history, strength, and legacy of the United States Marine Corps through courage, leadership, and sacrifice.
Juneteenth reminds us that freedom is precious, service is honorable, and our nation's story is strengthened by those who stand together in defense of liberty.
Today, we honor the past, celebrate progress, and recognize all who have served to protect the freedoms we cherish.

⛳What an Incredible Day at the 17th Annual Combat Golf Tournament! ⛳

Because of the generosity of our sponsors, golfers, donors, volunteers, and supporters, the 17th Annual Combat Golf Tournament was a tremendous success!
The day was filled with great golf, camaraderie, friendly competition, exciting contests, a Helicopter Ball Drop, silent auction bidding, and an evening of awards, dinner, and celebration. Most importantly, it brought our community together in support of the Marines, Sailors, Wounded Warriors, and families of the Fighting Fifth.
A special thank you to everyone who sponsored a Marine or Wounded Warrior, purchased ball drop tickets, donated auction items, sponsored tees, and volunteered their time. Your support helped ensure that dozens of our Fighting Fifth Marines and Wounded Warriors could join us for this memorable day.
Every dollar raised helps us continue our mission of providing programs, resources, and support to those who serve our nation and the families who stand behind them.
Together, we honored service, strengthened community, and made a meaningful difference in the lives of our Marines and Wounded Warriors.

June 6, 1944 — D-Day

On this day 81 years ago, thousands of brave Allied troops stormed the beaches of Normandy in one of the most pivotal moments in world history. Facing impossible odds, these heroes fought through enemy fire and chaos, making sacrifices to begin the liberation of Europe during World War II.
Among them were courageous Marines, Sailors, soldiers, and service members whose bravery changed the course of history and preserved freedom for generations to come. 🎖️
Today, we honor the extraordinary courage of the Greatest Generation and remember those who never made it home from the beaches of Normandy.
Their sacrifice reminds us that freedom is never free.
