The Public Housing Waitlist is currently open for
THREE and FOUR BEDROOMS UNITS ONLY . The waitlist will remain open until the 50th online application has been received for each bedroom size.
Applications are only available electronically via internet. The online application and additional information can be found at: www.darlingtonha.org. Please read the BEFORE YOU APPLY and AFTER YOU APPLY links on the website for additional information. All completed applications will be accepted.
Applicants will need to provide social security numbers, date of birth, and income/asset information for all household members.
Applicants will be placed on the waiting list according to PHA preference(s) and the date and time their complete application is received by the PHA. Placement on the waiting list does not indicate that the family is, in fact, eligible for admission. When the family is selected from the waiting list, the PHA will verify any preference(s) claimed and determine eligibility and suitability for admission to the program.
If you do not have computer access, or you need assistance in submitting your application and need to use a computer, office staff will be available to assist you at the Housing Authority of Darlington Administration office located at 324 Bacote St. Darlington, SC 29532 on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays as long as the waitlists remain open between the hours of 9 am and 11 am.
If you have any special needs, you may request reasonable accommodation in order to have equal access to the programs and services of the Public Housing Program. The City of Darlington has opened cooling center located at 586 West Broad Street.
It’s open from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. as a place to cool off and escape the heat.

We want to thank all the HAD families who came to join us in the Water Fun Day.
Siblings slid down the water slide together. Friends raced down the slide to see who was the fastest. A mama bravely went down the slide with her baby, twice, and kids who were waiting their turn became the loudest cheerleaders!!
We hope the laughter and the splashes and the pure excitement of sliding through the water all made it a special memory the kids won’t soon forget.
I would liked to shout out a huge Thank You to our AMAZING maintenance team, Mytea, Jason and Rock. Without these three working diligently behind the scenes, we couldn’t make it happen. Even when something looks like it won’t work, these men always come up with a solution.
We look forward to doing this again. I know the kids are certainly encouraging it.
And one more thing, if you know who owns these shoes, tell Cinderfella he left them behind and can come get them at the office.
