Our board member and fellow Yall Vote founder joined NPR’s On Point this week to talk about all the work happening in the South — give it a listen wherever you get your podcasts!

Pres. Zelensky is a Zaddy indeed.

I believe Ukraine bombing three Russian bot farms weeks before the midterms is one of those events so consequential that we won’t know all the ways it matters for years.

Slava Ukraini.

Cheers to all our candidates out there showing up for their communities! 24 days, LFG!

Send this to a down ballot candidate who is doing a great job.

This time of election season is really hard. Really really hard. Candidates are tired and the pressure is extreme. It can feel like every handshake, every door, every ad, every mailer is make or break. It can also feel like the people who should have your back have abandoned you - distracted by other races, other issue, other whatever.

So, tell your favorite candidates (especially the down ballot ones who are first to be forgotten) that you appreciate them. Even better - take a volunteer shift.

Hi! New here?

Welcome. My name is Kate Barr and I am a mischief maker for democracy.

I’m also a behavioral scientist, two-time candidate, and founder of five different political organizations that all work to fight for fair maps.

It’s October 3rd. The limit does not exist on how many times we’re going to remind you to vote down-ballot.

How to Win Back the South Series:
Run Everywhere

When we contest every race, we:
1 - build lasting infrastructure
2 - turn out votes on the margin for statewide candidates
3 - build the bench
4 - force Republicans to play the whole board

Not to mention showing up for the 30ish% of blue voters in the majority of these districts. Their voices matter and they deserve a choice on their ballots.

How you can help:
- volunteer for a red district candidate (canvass, phone bank, text bank, etc)
- give to candidates on the YALLvote 💙💚🩵 Oath slate
- support the The Can’t Win Victory Fund who recruits and trains candidates to run effective campaigns in deep red districts

…and most importantly…

RUN FOR OFFICE!!!!
We need strong candidates in VA, LA and MS for 2027. Raise your hand and take a chance.

South Carolina’s House districts look like someone handed a toddler a crayon and a grudge. So I drew what I saw.

Gerrymandered AF: the district lines, plus who’s running to fix them.

Every one of these seats is on your ballot November 3. Midterms are when people stay home, so the people who show up get a louder vote. Be loud. Bring friends.

Registration closes Oct 2 in person, Oct 4 online. scvotes(dot)gov

We lit the candles. We drank the bubbly. We bedazzled basically everything in sight.

And now Candles for Candidates are officially available online. 🕯️✨

Meet the collection:
🔥 Good Trouble
🦎 The Salamander
✨ Keep It Lit
♀️ The Matriarchy

Our launch party sold out of every candle we had poured for the night — and now Bells Box Collective is pouring more.

Four candles. Four stories. One very sparkly collaboration.

And even better: Candles for Candidates orders ship FREE with two-day shipping.
