Just a reminder that the Little River Campground is CLOSED to the public this weekend, Friday June 5th & Saturday June 6th for Visit Decatur County Iowa's Summer Sound Music Festival!

All campsites are already spoken for, so we will not have room for any extra campers. We opened campsites up for reservations for this weekend months ago and they filled up right away. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Today was our first Nature Tots of the summer, and we learned all about BEAVERS! 🦫 🪵🪾

We read the story “Five Busy Beavers”, learned about beaver adaptations and one volunteer even turned into a beaver 😆, collected sticks at six different trees and made beaver lodges, decorated a beaver puppet, and had a “beaver tail” (nutter butter cookies) snack!

Who says National Agriculture Day can’t include a little fishy business? 🎣🐟

Today we spent the day with over 165 Decatur County 4th and 5th grade students learning fish ID and battling it out with Backyard Bass! There were some impressive casting skills, some questionable fish guesses, and probably a few future professional anglers in the group. 👀

We had an awesome time teaching students about fish found commonly in Iowa while also proving that learning can get a little competitive. Thanks to all the students and teachers for making it such a fun day!🥳
