Another Tuesday, another Fun Jam in the Park sharing Career Trees! 🌳
This week, we explored careers in education, gave away books, and were joined by Ashley from The Suter Company, Inc., who shared the Advanced Manufacturing Career Tree. The prize wheel was a HUGE hit! 🎉
We're having so much fun connecting with the community this summer and can't wait to see everyone at Welsh Park again next week!

Survey Closing on July 9th❗ -- On behalf of our partner and DCEDC Member, Opportunity House, Inc we encourage employers -- of all sizes and sectors -- to complete a brief survey from Opportunity House.

This survey from Opportunity House is anonymous, takes less than 10 minutes to complete, and includes an opportunity to enter a raffle.

With the passage of the Dignity in Pay Act, Illinois is moving away from sheltered workshops and toward community-integrated employment. For individuals who worked at OH Industries, this now opens the door for greater opportunity, growth and independence with appropriate training and supervision.

Information from this survey will help Opportunity House gain influential input from local employers to help guide their process. Opportunity House is working with Dr. Laura DeThorne of Neurodiverse by Design LLC to assist Opportunity House on this journey.

Elevate, the young professionals initiative of the DeKalb County Economic Development Corporation, is bringing together emerging leaders from across the region for an evening of networking, community building, and professional growth at Roberts Family Farm in Sandwich.

The Elevate summer networking event will take place from 4:30 to 6:30 pm on June 29 at Roberts Family Farm, 905 S. County Line Road, Sandwich. The event is designed to provide young professionals with opportunities to build meaningful connections, expand their professional networks, and engage with peers from across DeKalb County in a relaxed and welcoming environment.

Attendees will enjoy complimentary appetizers, local beverages, and access to one of the area's unique agricultural destinations while connecting with fellow professionals who are passionate about strengthening the region's workforce and community. Elevate is dedicated to building community among young professionals, generally 18-45 years old, across DeKalb County by creating opportunities for networking, leadership development, and community engagement.

Guests will also experience the many attractions of Roberts Family Farm, including their farm store, self-serve tap system with local beverages, and the opportunity to see farm animals and explore the site. There will also be networking games in a low-pressure environment.

The event is free to attend; however, advance registration is required by June 26. Appetizers will be provided, and alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase.
